Very useful
I'm using this to paint the outside of my house. I don't see how you can do that without something like this.So far, I've done fascia & soffits. I use brushes for fascia and brush/roller for soffits. It's easy to carry up & hook on the ladder. I do wish the hook was a 1/4 inch longer to give me a better sense of "trust" (worried I might hit it too hard to cause it to unhook and fall--hasn't happened though). The handle isn't loose, so there's no worry about it tipping while you carry it up the ladder. The only issue I've had with it is the brush holder/magnet area is a bit too small to hold two brushes (why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars). I use a 1.5 inch for cutting in & a 3 inch for the rest. I can barely get both in there and once I hit the small brush and because it was only on part of the magnet, it fell into the bucket (messy). This winter I'll see if I can glue a magnet somewhere else to hold the smaller brush. One last thing: it's a bit of a pain to clean because of all the angles. I'm going to see if there are liners available.

Love it so much we ordered a second one.
This paint pail is perfect for using on any type of ladder as well as in place of the old-fashioned type of tray. It has a strong magnet to hold brushes firmly. The pail can hold a good gallon or more of paint. The best part of it is the hook that allows you to hang it on the side of a ladder and easily lift and move it to another rung. This is a well designed bucket. Either let the paint dry and peel it out later or easily wash it out and be ready for the next paint project. I am never going back to the old tray type. This is my go to for all of my future paint projects. Very durable.

Great bucket awkward but its for ladder use
This bucket is big and sturdy and they make great liners that I have been able to reuse by rinsing the in many cases.I have used this on a typical Werner step ladder and as far as I can tell it fits on this ladder as it is designed to fit. While it is attached this way it hangs lopsided creating a pool of paint which is not ideal. Also the roller grid (which could have more relief to it IMO) is on the side away from where you are standing which to me is awkwardand adds to the unsteady feel because you have to push away from the hanging side. It is harder to control the loading of the roller for me because of this, esp if using an extension pole. I am no pro so maybe that is personal preference. If you are working with the ladder close to a wall or fence you have to hang the pail on the opposite side resulting in more opportunity to drip paint and more back and forth or you can hang it on the side you are working on but you need to have the ladder at least a foot maybe two away from the surface you are working on making it harder to reach what you are on the ladder to reach. Some ladder trays are made to hang flat on the rungs of the other side which seems more useful to me ( like this: Core Gear CG007 2 Way Tray ) though I have not yet tried that type. Another odd thing to me is that at the bottom of the roller grid there are indentations that are narrower than a standard 9" roller making it awkward to try and get the last bit of paint. I cant tell if this is a feature or a bug... it annoys me though! So this is a well made bucket and is useful for some cases but has some design limitations. However it is the most readily available option for this purpose...

use on ladder ,great
Adding to all the strong reviews... just painted my soffits . I used a full 9" roller too on and extension.Worked great... very convenient and strong. I did not come close to filling it up but this keeps spills down etchint: as the pic shows , pinch the foam handle which steadies the hole unitbought liners... worked well, but fairly expensive and after a couple of hours use did not clean up easily.... but would never go without one.Follow up. I was able to reuse the liners without making them perfectly cleanFinished painting the outside of the house. This bucket was great!

Portable paint station--it's all in one place for quicker painting
If you are painting, this is a MUST. I painted a 15 foot cathedral ceiling with ease using this pail. Everything was there--place for my roller (hooks easily on the lip opposite the hook), magnet for my "cut in" brush and a hole for my damp rag (unfortunately needed for drips, can't paint without it). Simply pick it up by the handle, climb up the ladder and then kind of drape the hook over the step and let it settle. The handle then sets out of the way near the ladder. It is firmly in place--I used the normal folding ladders, and the hook easily went around the side of the vertical part of the ladder. It was all there, so while I was painting 10 feet off the ground I could paint everywhere I could reach. Then on the way down, grab the handle and move it down a few steps, repeat. Saved a ton of trips up and down the ladder, trying to balance a tray. While painting at chest level, I hooked it over the side of the ladder and saved myself a ton of bending over! On the floor, it continued to be just as handy. I found that about 1/2 gallon was the best level of paint, although it is marked for one gallon. More than that and the roller had too much paint to easily roll off prior to application. Extra paint on the brush can be knocked off by rubbing it against the roller. I used latex paint, and it was easy to clean up.

Brilliant!
So, during this pandemic, I decided to paint my exterior screen enclosure, to include the gutters. I was using two different brushes and two different rollers. The brushes fit side by side on the magnetic strip of the bucket and I was able to neatly drape the two rollers (6 inch and 4 inch) on the side of the bucket. The bucket itself safely latched onto to the side of the ladder step I chose to use - I didn't have to bend down each time I needed paint on the brush. Great invention - saved me a lot of time and energy. Highly recommend.

Great for getting up on ladders
For the most part, I love this pail. I stopped using paint trays and use this even when I'm not getting up on a ladder. It's strong and balances really well on all the ladders I've used. I've got one major complaint, however. The place they have for holding the roller does not hold the roller. It always ends up falling into the paint -- so frustrating. Even the small rollers fall into the bucket. That shouldn't be so hard to redesign.
