Arcadia Garden Products 1592 Solstice Series Coconut Hanging Basket 16-Inch

We purchased the Arcadia Garden Products Coconut 1593 Solstice Round Hanging Basket Planters (20-Inch, Black) in the spring, and they’ve been fantastic all summer! Our Boston ferns had plenty of room to grow large and lush, and the baskets held up beautifully through the season. They’re sturdy, stylish, and still look great after months of use. We’re thrilled that we’ll be able to use them again next growing season — definitely a great investment for any garden or porch!

I LOVE THESE! I had been looking for something large for my front porch and these delivered! They are well made. I worried about the high winds and the chains holding up and after a whole summer I’m so pleased! I added some moisture beads to the soil to retain the moisture in the soil so I didn’t have to water morning and night. It worked great! I could even skip days. Highly recommend!

I read about these in a blog. You'll definitely need a lot of potting soil. I blended moisture control, organic mix, Fox Farm and an airy perlite mixture. My husband installed reinforced brackets that would hold the weight of these. He had to lift them for me because they are very heavy. He was able to remove one side of the chain so I could plant my fern, then reattached it. I was skeptical the ferns would grow large enough to cover the basket but they are. These should hold up for years to come and I love that I can grow larger ferns. Using some moisture control soil was nice so I don't have to water as often. My ferns with these baskets look impressive on the porch for the summer. No more ugly green plastic pots or trying to get the coco liner in a cheap wire basket to cover the plastic pot. These also hang evenly unlike the nursery pots. They do take up a lot of room as they are wide. You might want to get a sturdy chain to lower the pot as the chains on these are a little short. I would hang a black chain from the porch hook and then place the basket chain into the other end of that chain. I hope that makes sense.

I had purchased 4 of these 16” hanging baskets and all seemed well until one of them decided to break. After cleaning up all of the planted flowers in the basket, it was discovered that the actual links in the hanging chain aren’t welded or closed all the way which causes them to open up and drop the entire basket. I tried to call the manufacturer (Arcadia) and were told they were not interested or able to do “anything” to help. While explaining that this appears to be a manufacturer defect, I was completely dismissed and eventually hung up on. After purchasing a second basket, repotting all the plants and hanging it, the exact same thing happened. So now I have 2 defective baskets I plan on returning. Trying to remain positive I did a bit of research and found another company (h00k+lattice), that sell replacement chain links and confirmed their “links” are completely shut (unlike Arcadia’s links that will or eventually will open up and break). The disappointing part of all this (aside from losing an entire basket of growing and blooming flowers), is the price points. Arcadia’s baskets with defective chain links is around $32. The aforementioned company’s (H+L) 16” powder coated steel basket with coco liner and same design retails for $38. So, for $6 more you would be receiving a much more durable product that won’t have issues w the links. Thankfully H+L has replacement chain links I can swap out since I am way outside of the Amazon return window and Arcadia refuses to assist at all. Let’s just hope the other 3 Arcadia baskets don’t decide to break and fall. Save the money and check out the $38 option (h00ks+Lattice).

I purchased 5 of these large planters for 5 large ferns I had that were very rootbound. The planters are wonderful! However when full with a large plant and soil, they are VERY heavy! My husband weight one and it was 68 lbs. We upgraded our hanging hardware to heavy weight eye bolts and changed out our S hooks to heavy weight caribeners.

Really like how sturdy the basket is on this planter. Unfortunately I could only give 4 stars as one of the hanging chains was broken. I have planned on replacing those with a heavier chain in order to hold the weight of my staghorn fern that will hang in the basket.

Loved this product!! I actually used mine so birds could nest out of the heat here in AZ and this larger size was amazing. I have two baby doves in it now.

This hanging basket is extremely well made. The chains and basket are sturdy and hold well. The coco liner was secured and fit perfectly. I got the 20” and used the moisture control MG soil. It took close to 1/2 of a large bag of soil to fill it in addition to about a 1.5 gallon potted plant. Texas summers are brutal and I needed a basket that didn’t need to be watered every day. This one is perfect. It is heavy when filled. I didn’t water it thoroughly until we hung it. Highly recommend this product.

Finally a basket large enough to hold enough dirt and water for plants to live in a sunny hot space. Pricey, but very very sturdy to withhold the weight as they are heavy before plants and growing medium is added.

Brilliant all summer for huge fushia display as larger enough to hold moisture, never ever been so lovely. Winter mixed plants doing well as protects roots re cold and rain drains away. Does it stop raining this January?
