Thoroughly impressed by the quality and value for the money
Alright, this doesn't happen very often. I didn't even have this product completely out of the bag before and I knew I was dealing with exceptional quality. In this day and age of imported everything I've come to expect substandard steel products, particularly in the area of anything with a sharpened edge. We've grown used to objects that LOOK like they're supposed to work but can't hold an edge. And the plastics; don't get me started on the plastics. This knife, however, is the real thing. The rubberized handle is of a durometer that makes it exceedingly grip-able. The tactile sensation just feels perfect. The blade is razor sharp right out of the scabbard and it has the ideal amount of flex for a fillet knife, which should make for some very close-to-the-bone filleting. And, speaking of the scabbard, it was a very pleasant surprise -- extremely supple leather and it holds the blade very securely. This knife is evidence of a manufacturer who cares deeply about the quality of their product and instilling it with value for the customer. My only caveat is full admission that I have only just received the product, and although I am impressed, cannot attest to its longevity or corrosion resistance. I suspect it will fare well in these areas due to the surgical steel used and the five-star ratings given it across the board by other customers. If this turns out not to be the case I will update my review in future. Made in USA. Love it!

Sharp
This is my first purpose made filet knife. I'm tired of using my pocket knife to butcher fish. I find this knife to far exceed my expectations of quality for the price.. Good ergonomics, very flexible, strong blade, and the sharpest factory edge I have seen on any knife. I haven't caught a fish to use it on yet, but I think it will do the job. I'll let you know. Time passes.... I have used the knife filleting catfish, and found that it holds the edge well, and does an excellent job. I like it. It goes with me to the ocean too.

All the features I ever wanted in a quality fillet knife and then some!! Made in the USA
I have had various fillet fishing knives over the years, each had pluses and minuses. This Rada is all plus all day! Handle;Firm rubber is grip without slip, slight curve, finger grip cutouts, thumb curve for control and leverage on top forward area, sides of handle have a gun stock style checker pattern.Overall fits your hand securely and ergonomically. Blade is amazingly sharp, curved just right.Blade has the right flex with torsional strength for safe use. Nice black leather scabbard with belt loop and snap strap to secure at handle. Made in USA since 1948 look em' up. Absolutely recommend product and seller!

Rada Filet Knife
Excellent product!! Won one of these filet knives as a door prize at a fishing tournament several years ago, absolutely love it!! Blade is very flexible, holds an edge extremely well, and the ergonomic design of the handle and soft rubber grip afford a great feel for what you're doing as well as making the knife very comfortable to work with. I spend half the year in ND, half the year in Florida, needed a filet knife on the southern end, so I looked up Rada Cutlery to order one up. Finding it on Amazon at a great price was a plus, and having it on my desk at the office in 2 days made it even better! Only thing that could possibly beat all of that was finding the Rada Sportsman's Knife to go with it, and since Amazon offered it at the same great price I ordered it too! Can't imagine anyone being disappointed in this knife; it's a great filet knife for the money!!

Terrific knife
This knife is a great knife for the price. I have used mine for over a year to filet the skin of the salmon filets I purchase for my family. It sharpens well and holds its edge well. I am sure that there are somewhat better knives on the market but for the price and how I utilize it, it has proved to be a great knife.

Very nicely made, good grip and balance
Very nicely made, good grip and balance, and the sheath is a nice addition. I do wish the edge retention was better, if so, I would happily give it five stars. It just didn't hold its edge as long as I would have liked. It seemed to lose its sharpness after the first large fish, but was very easy to hone back to an exceptional edge. Having only moderate experience with fillet knives, this may be just how they are, and this could well be one of the best, but I have used non-filet knives to dress down fish, namely a simple Cold Steel K7, with great result without dulling the blade and gotten near identical results...albeit taking longer to do. All in all, quite pleased with the knife, and would try another of their products if Cold Steel didn't make what I was looking for (which is why I purchased this in the first place. Not being made in China was A HUGE plus also)

Great fillet knife at an excellent price
I just received this a few days ago, and already used it on my most recent redfish catch. The blade is thin, super-sharp and just bendy enough to make filleting a breeze. The rubber handle with finger indents is great for keeping the knife from slipping when things get slimy. It's a good size for snook, redfish, & other inshore saltwater fish. Best of all, it's just not very expensive compared to many other fillet knives on the market, but it doesn't look or feel cheaply made.

Great knife!
Been through a whole fishing season with this knife, and a lot of fish. It has a great edge when new, keeps an edge quite well, and sharpens quickly, and to a level I like. It will even withstand a bit of hacking when you can't get your hands on a more substantial head/tail removing knife.. If i lose this knife, I will buy two more. Flexes well enough to a nice job on redfish, is sharp enough for flounder.

I heard about this from guides in Northern Saskatchewan and had to purchase my own. It is extremely sharp and I touch up with a Lansky sharpening system and the edge holds up extremely well. Perfect flex and have no problems with handle especially when filleting pike. A top quality blade at an economical price. Sheath could be better, not sure it is real leather, but does the job and keeps the blade in secure. My sheath came a little twisted and still is after a fair bit of use. I would recommend to any fisherman. I won't purchase another expensive knife again.

Looks Good. I haven't used it yet but it appears to be very good quality and at a reasonable price. Very sharp . Sheath is not leather but a good quality composite.
