vcr/dvd player
I was excited to find a vcr/dvd player. My old one quit working properly and I really wanted a combo player again. I was concerned about buying one that was refurbished, but so far this one has worked great! It also came with a remote (many others did not come with one) and that works properly as well.

VCR Does Not Work
I bought this just for the VCR. When I put a tape in, it either didn’t go in at all or pushed it right back out. I know it was not my tapes because they played in my previous VCR with no issue. This item should have been tested before being shipped out. I returned it and went to my local thrift store where I got one that works just fine for $15.

This VHS/DVD combo works great & is like brand new
I don't usually write reviews but I wanted to share that I received this earlier than expected and was very happy, it looks and works like it is brand new. Both the VHS tapes and the DVD's play with no problem. I am really exited to be able to watch all my old VHS movies. Thanks to Magnavox.

NO REMOTE?? ...Still a good machine!
Haven't got it out of the bubble wrap yet, but It says in the description on the Amazon website that it includes a remote, yet, when I opened the carton, the invoice laying on the top says "NO REMOTE is included, with the manual available online." We will see how the rest of it turns-out. So far, I am not happy about this purchase!.VCR the playback is excellent for an old home-made video that's more than 20 years old! I bumped my overall rating up to 4 stars, still disappointed about the lack of a remote....one of the reasons I chose this particular machine is that the description said it came with a remote.

Packing Peanuts in the VCR!!??
I feel sorry I didn't snap a photo. But the VCR was packed in packing peanuts!!! which all went right into the vhs flap. I figured if it hadn't been damaged from shipping, I damaged it trying to extract packing peanuts for about 20 minutes. Then after some operator errors, I finally watched my first vhs in a few years. A few different tapes flickered rarely or some flickered so bad I couldn't watch the tape. Some of it corrected with constantly pressing the tracking either way. My tapes always worked fine as far as I know. So far it's been mostly worth it. Also, there is no cable hook up. It is solely the AV cords, weird seeing a VCR with no cable screw haha. No remote came with it, I can't remember if it advertised a remote or not.

This company took the time to make sure product worked.
This is the only company we ordered from that went through and gave us a working refirbished product. They left notes on how to operate.

“Here I’ll send you a return label so we can resell to someone else”
The media could not be loaded. I’m sure this is not reflective of all Amazon products, but this particular seller was awful. Nicole’s compliments summed up in one sentence “Here I’ll send you a return label so we can resell to someone else” This said after the assumption ive not used the product ‘correctly’. If you are interested in an older vcr player as I am (I grew up with them, so I know how to use them ‘correctly’), I’d recommend steering clear of this seller. The first vcr I bought from them worked for about a week, with poor picture quality throughout. Finally the picture began degrading to which I attempted to use a head cleaner which had no effect, and within a day it stopped displaying the visual of vhs tapes altogether, it was a defective component. So I gave the seller the benefit of the doubt as the vcr also appeared to have been dropped in shipping. I returned it and received an email that I had been sent two accidentally so I figured I’d roll with it, it was a bit shady but I don’t mind if it worked. However it did not work. Same issue, everything functioned but would not actually play the video of the vcr. I tried multiple basic things to see if I could troubleshoot and also even just played it for awhile to no avail. When I asked to return this second one, the email chain should adequately show you how I was treated afterward. I suppose I cannot match the intellect of an autistic child despite being a nuclear welder; so cudos to you Nicole, you certainly got great compliments.
