My FAVORITE Cathe workout to date
To give a little background on how I'm comparing this workout, I have the following other Cathe workouts:Power Hour, CTX Kickbox, Rhythmic Step, the entire Intensity Series, the Terminator, Kick Punch & Crunch, Timesaver, Low Max, Kick Max, Muscle Max and Low Impact Circuit.Hands down, this is my absolute favorite workout. I think what takes the cake for me is the music. It's not *just* 80's music, either - it's remixed techno versions of it, and since I'm a huge fan of techno and going out clubbing and dancing my heart out to techno, it's a small wonder I find this workout so enjoyable. The step routines are a total kick. I'm not sure exactly how to recommend this workout as far as those new to Cathe's workouts goes. I think the choreography is easy to follow, but then I've been doing Cathe workouts now for around four years, so I've had a lot of practice (I used to not be able to make it through even the warmup of Rhythmic Step once upon a time ago.)Basically, my recommendation is if you can't figure out the step routines, just take your time and keep trying.I can't comment too much on the weighted portion of this workout - I tend to pop this one in and utilize all the cardio segments, including the bonus cardio track at the end for my cardio days. I plan this workout occasionally on my weights days on a weekend when I know I can dedicate a whole hour and a half to a workout, and I can tell you I am WIPED OUT by the end when I do the entire thing.BEST BEST BEST Cathe workout so far, though! LOVE it. I hope Cathe can put together more jewels like this. I think it also helps that she's definitely in a very happy mood when she's doing any of the workouts in the series this DVD came out with. In her Hardcore series, she just doesn't seem quite so happy - more like she's worn out, so it puts a completely different mood on the workout.Get this DVD! It's fantastic!

I LOVE this workout
This video isn't the newest around, but then neither is the STEP concept of working out. It doesn't say it but you shouldn't be a beginner and try this - you should try Basic Step first. But if you are up to a challenge and you don't give up easily, you will enjoy each time you get further and further into her routines. Cathe offers a few low impact options, but not often. Speaking of options - the menu is the best - there are chapters that you can choose from, as well as mixing and matching chapters to fine tune your workout. The options include several step combinations, several power circuits (high intensity step combos), and upper body workouts, ab and stretch workouts. And you can mix those all up or choose some that are premixed for you. I can see I will be using this for quite sometime and I can imagine I will be achieving my weight loss goals with a few more options now!

A great step workout for those who love them but not so much for those that don't
I'm a recently converted huge Cathe fan and bought this based on the clips and reviews. I loved the assortment of songs and didn't think that the choreography looked too difficult; I was wrong. I'm as uncoordinated as can be but after two attempts and writing down the step moves I still was frustrated and haven't used the DVD since. I'll admit that I'm more inclined to do Cathe's newer workouts and I do think the weighted portions along with the abs and legs are worthwhile but due to knee issues I should have known to stay away from anything using a step. Lesson learned! For those without two left feet and who are able to do step moves without a problem this should be a fun workout but I unfortunately couldn't keep up. I've purchased a few of Cathe's older videos and all of them are gathering dust so it's not just this particular disk alone. That's only my opinion - don't let that stop you from buying this if you love the step! The music is great, Cathe is cheerful and it is an excellent total body DVD.

Experienced many bad lucks but still good
I experienced series of bad DVDs and ended up returning/re-ordering 3 times. I even bought a new DVD player but the problems did not go away. The problems were for both Body Max 2 and Guts & Butts. So I gave 1 star review. Then yesterday I actually received replacement DVDs from Cathe Friedrich corporation herself. Well, I am very touched by that. God knows why I had so many technical problems. DVDs I ordered 3 times were actually unwatchable. I use Pre-Mix feature only. Does anyone have tehnical problems when using this feature? Problems such as frozen image, skipping and eventual blank screen? It's bad.Aside from technical problems, I remain dedicated to this DVD and Cathe Friedrich's programs. I just hope I don't experience any more problems.

Great workout!
I love this workout. I do it once a week or once every other week. The step cardio section is fun with great music. I love the intervals with the lower body exercises with the cardio and the upper body and abdominal workout is fabulous. It really helps keep me in shape.

One of my favorite Cathe's DVDs
This DVD is tough... but don't be scared. Cathe does a great job with the premixes and you can pick shorter versions of the workout. I love the music on this DVD.... It's so much fun... it makes me want to keep jumping!!! The upper body routine is about 20 minutes long. It's efficient and straight to the point.I've never seen results as quickly before... Cathe will definitely delivery results!!!

Fun step infused cardio
I have done this workout so many times I can do the step routine with my eyes closed. The step segment is fun and easy to learn. This workout is challenging enough to get your heart pumping, and the warm-up allows you to build yourself up for the step and interval blast.
