Great for car rides
We got dvds as a bday gift, so I needed a DVD player for my preschooler. This one is perfect, it’s portable so we can take it with us. Perfect for longer car rides, it’ll be great for this summer. And it doesn’t monopolize the tv at home so I can watch my shows too. Good picture, sometimes takes a second to catch up the graphic on intense action scenes. Battery lasts forever it seems, better than the tablet.

Nice DVD player, but it's bigger than my laptop
The DVD player arrived today and I was able to play a DVD right out of the box. The battery charge was sufficient to watch about 45 minutes of a DVD without charging. I do have it charging now though. The reason I chose that particular player was because of its large screen. There were others with the same size screen but through reading of reviews, I settled on this one. I will be playing a DVD as part of a program I will be presenting in a month for a group I belong to. I've been wondering for some time what the best way to play the DVD in the building we will be meeting. There isn't Internet, but there is a TV. None of my devices (laptop, iPhone, and iPad) have a DVD drive on them. I originally was going to buy an external DVD that would connect to my laptop. I already have an older small, external DVD with recording capabilities that I bought many years ago before most programs and apps were downloaded from the Internet. I decided that I really didn't need another external DVD player / writer especially since I don't use that one anymore or don't even know if it still works. I would still have to take my old laptop to the meeting and it isn't too reliable either. So, I instead chose this portable player which has the largest size screen that's available. When I first played my DVD, I hadn't put the battery in the remote yet, so I intended to navigate on the player itself. This proved to be a little bit of a problem because I couldn't figure out which button was the "play" button. I was able to get the menu and push the arrow button to the next chapter, but couldn't make it play the selected option. I would get the blue loading screen. Sometimes I pushed a button that did make it play but it ended up being the same chapter I had just viewed, even if I had navigated to the next chapter. I desperately skimmed the manual for an explanation or picture of the buttons on the player, but none was found. There's complete pictures and button identification of the remote, but not of the player - that I could find anyway. So I finally went and put two batteries in the remote, which was a piece of cake to do, and from that point on, used the remote to navigate. The picture is excellent and I was able to rotate the screen some, but I didn't want to mess with it too much at first. As for the volume, some reviews have said that the sound wasn't very good. When it first came on, it said the volume was at "17". Sitting right next to it, it was plenty loud, so I luckily found the volume arrows on the player itself to drop it down to about "10." I wanted this large screen player because not only are people going to be sitting around a large table to watch my presentation, most of them are also elderly. I need a screen large enough for everyone to see and and good volume for them to hear. Some could be 10 feet away while watching it.When I played the particular DVD that I'm using in my presentation, the closed caption automatically came on. I'm not sure if that was due to the player's settings or because of the DVD. The closed caption words are easily readable. That will be nice for my viewers, and I hope it still comes on when I do my presentation.I'm hoping to find a bag of some sort for my DVD player before I need to be hauling it to my meeting. I worry that it won't fit in the bag I end up getting. Its dimensions when closed are approximately 15.5" wide by 10.5" front to back, and 1.5 " high (thick). It is a little thicker than some of the bags I've looked at online. It is big, even bigger than my old lap top. It's very lightweight though and not awkward to carry while closed.I did notice that it tends to tilt backwards when the screen is in its normal open position. Either something needs to be placed behind it to keep it from tilting backwards, or the screen needs to be turned a little so that it is over the top of the player. It comes with nice accessories. Since I don't have young kids in my car very often, I feel I can live without a headrest mount. I'm not real sure there's even one that's big enough to use this particular player on a headrest. If I had intended to use the DVD player for backseat passengers, I would have gotten a much smaller one.I just checked to see how the battery charging was progressing. It's been charging for about three hours now. It says that when the charge is complete, the red light, which I did see on the side/ bottom turns green. I didn't see any light of any color, but I'm assuming it's done charging anyway.I don't expect any problems with the player for my presentation, and unless I do experience some problem, assume all went well with my presentation. However, if I do encounter some problems, I will be sure to update.

It works
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I’m surprised at how large the screen is. I chose this model because the screen was larger than most. Now that I have it in my hands, it seems like overkill for our road trip. The speakers are adequate but with a bit of echo. Hooked up to headphones without a problem. I don’t like how the dvd is inserted, you can see/touch the exposed reader lens, which makes it seem vulnerable to scratches and lint. The base does not sit flat if the screen is opened to more than a 90 degree angle, so if it is on your lap and you try to tip the screen up/back it will topple backwards from the weight of the screen. The buttons are a bit confusing: I used one set of toggles to navigate a dvd menu but needed to push the OK button on the opposite toggle. I have not used it yet for our road trip, but I’m hoping the battery life and bump-resistance claims are true. Overall I’m not super impressed, but it works and I haven’t tried any other DVD player to compare it to.

Sweet
This is a wonderful product! I bought this because my DVD player died and every now and then I want to watch a movie. I can watch on my large screen TV because I can hook into my AV input jack. Our local electric company turns off electricity often around fire season, now I can pass some time w/o power. The screen is a great size for a portable, and sound is pretty good!

I’m extremely happy with my QKK DVD/CD player
I’m extremely satisfied with my new QKK DVD player. The screen is as big as the screen on a notebook computer- important now that notebook computers typically don’t have a DVD drives. I used mine on a road trip and took advantage of its ability to play CDs while I was driving. It’s especially nice that it came with both an AC and 12 volt power cord.

VERY LARGE SCREEN
Bought this for the kids in the car. Has a long battery life, can watch 2 whole movies. The screen is the size of a laptop and swivels. My only concern is that the screen feels a little flimsy where it connects to the bace since it hinges up and down and swivels left to right. Happy with my product. Time will tell.

We love this DVD player
Bought this for our son (10) for an extended long road trip. So far we love it. Much better than the 3 other portable DVD players we have purchased in the past. The size is awesome! Approximately the size of a laptop (but much lighter) love the larger screen you can see all the details in every shot (unlikely the DVD player that go on the back of the seat) but the size could be an issue if you have limited room in your vehicle. This DVD player comes with quite a few advance features , including being able to adjust the brightness. As most of you know with most portable DVD players it can be almost impossible to watch it when the sun hits the car just right. With this DVD player that's not a problem. You can also hook it to you to and use it at home. Comes with 2 power cords,1 wall and 1 car jack, or you can use the rechargable battery that's last for hours. The picture quality is superior to any other portable DVD y we have had. Have not experienced any skipping from rough roads. All that, then add I only paid 55$ for it! My only concern with this DVD player is well it's NOT heavy. It feels, well, cheap and poorly mad because of how light it is but as of now I have not had any issues with it what so ever. I plan on buying a second one and will definitely be recommending it to people. We will be gone for over a month, I will check back after our road trip and let you know know it!
