Easy to read, well illustrated, tons of photos - a SUPER dog training book!
This has to be one of the BEST dog-training books around!...Simple to use. Every command/trick is shown in photos for those who hate to read! I have bought it 6 times to give to fellow tenants in my apt complex!

A good practical guide to general dog training for any age ...
A good practical guide to general dog training for any age dog. Emphasizes positive training while remaining pragmatic and practical. Gives advice on how to get your dog's attention so it will be receptive to training. Training is split into three aspects, heel work, the stays and recall (ie having you dog come) Clearly illustrated and explained. If you take the "21 day" thing with a grain of marketing you will probably be happy with this book. It is solely about dog training and does not cover house training or other aspects of doc ownership.

Full of a lot of great tips
Arrived, packaged and described as expected. Gave great guidelines to use with our 5 month old unsocialized to anything rescue puppy. We didn't agree with every training exercise in the book but vast majority of it very helpful. We have a very loving, interactive, nearly every command following, smart, and spoiled 1 year old now. He stays in the yard off his leash and doesn't run off. If you don't count the occasional rabbit or squirrel right up to the edge of the yard. He loves to learn new tricks and is protective as much as he needs to be. You do have to retain your puppy/dog every so often though and the book even states that too. Training is involved with a puppy almost as much as it is a kid.

A comment based on experience.
I found many good points in this book but I also found some points that I feel contradict a few of the good points. I teach Dog Obedience in South Australia & have done so for 40 years plus I run a very busy 'Dog Demonstration Team' & have done so for 28 years, so I base my comment on that experience & the fact that I was a Secondary School Senior Master in South Australia where I taught for 30 years. I still rate it as better than average & still well worth a read.

I like the book
Interesting book. Definately gave me insight into how my dogs thinks, and great ideas on training. I found the chapter on the leadership program very interesting. One thing I learned after getting the book, however, was that it's very difficult to train a dog when more than one person lives in the house, and they are not on the same page with training. As the author points out, and I am inclined to agree, training is not a form of punishment. Now if I can just explain that to my wife.

21 Days Book..
This is a good beginner book..its simple, easy to understand..and it does work with patience and continuity. My dog is a rescue..and is smart, and mouthy...He gets excited when people come and go..and we've got him to now be calm..and sit when people enter our home..its good..just be diligent in anything you do to train your animals..you are the Master..of His Domain!...

The best traing book I have found!!!
This book is not too wordy when it comes to tricks and obedience training. The pictures explain perfectly what you are to do and in which direction. Gives great advise on most every subject. I can not find a better book then this. Love it!!
