IMUSA USA Stainless Steel Stock Pot with Lid 12-Quart, Silver

So worth the buy! Great stock pot for greens/ any big variety of soups

I began canning for the first time this year and didn't want to invest in a lot of expensive equipment in case I never canned again. This large stock pot was perfect for the job. I used it on top of a ceramic top electric stove. I put a round cooling/roasting rack on the bottom of the pot to rest the pint jars on. The material it is made of is not thick and heavy. This makes it easier to lift when full of water but may effect its durability. It is large, so must be used on the larger burners.It has not scratched my stove-top. Also, make sure that your sink is big enough so that you can fill it and clean it. I have also used it for making stock and intend to use it for dying material.

For the price, this was a very good pot to get. I made my first pot of soup today and it cooked great. I love that I had the perfect sized pot I wanted for my soups now. And, I like that the lid isn't thick or heavy- it's thinner but still does the job of holding the heat well. And, for a little over twenty dollars this was a great find- I didn't think to find a pot this big in this price range. The pot is also light-weight, easy to wash- anything heavier would have really been too much for me to clean up- when washing. Thank you for a large pot at a very low price! As long as it cooks the soups I like- which it does, you can't beat what you get. All the other pots this big I looked at were much more expensive and had I not found the IMUSA manufactured 12-Quart I might not have been able to afford a soup pot at all this month. The stainless is a little thinner/lighter weight than expected, but more than adequate to support the 12 quart capacity. Hard to beat for the price. If your looking for top notch quality stainless pots, then look elsewhere. If you're looking for a inexpensive stainless pot to get the job done, then your set, but don't expect to much. For those reviews that state this must be aluminum because a magnet doesn't stick to it, well a magnet WILL NOT stick to 304 or 316 stainless steel either. Cheap stainless like 400 series (409,430,439) it will stick partially.
