Milet Picture Dictionary: English-Polish Hardcover – May 1, 2005

Love the pictures in this book and the fact that all the words have the articles which helps to identify if it is a masculine or feminine word. It had a good set of the basic words one would need to use in and around the home and that is probably the point of having a picture dictionary. It doesn't have a lot of words for functional or conversation use. No verbs or such.... but that may not be the point of the book. It also doesn't give an understanding for pronunciation of the words which one would need at this basic level of Italian. So it is fun and lovely to look at but not as much functional. It sort of takes the place of flash cards for your basic nouns and if that is what you are looking for it is great.

This is a great dictionary for children, and usable by adults also! I have purchased several for gifts and have one for myself.

Beautiful pictures, very interesting. A good beginner book for kids - it will definitely pique, as well as maintain their interest.

I ordered this for a Kurdish middle school student. It is too simiplistic and juvenile. There is precious little material available in Kurdish-English

Great if you have Polish-American kids. I have one and sent one to Poland to my cousin. We love this.

This picture dictionary is very attractively presented. The children I gave this book to seemed to enjoy it.

Useful book in picture format rather than a list of words. Not keen on the style of illustration but that isn't a problem. English and Polish children enjoy using the book together to practice pronouncing words - great hilarity when they get teacher to have a go! Wish it had a few phrases as well as single words though.

Habe das Buch für meine zwei deutschsprachigen Kinder (4 und 6 Jahre) gekauft. Die Bilder sind sehr ansprechend und der Wortschatz lässt vorerst keine Wünsche offen (Farben, Tiere, Zahlen, Körperteile, Essen und Trinken). Wenn wir die Wörter alle können, dann kennen wir einen Grundwortschatz von rund 400 bzw 800 Wörter des täglichen Lebens. Wir lieben dieses Buch und wollen es nicht mehr hergeben.

Sehr schöne Illustrationen. Meinen Kindern gefällt das Buch sehr gut.
