WASTE OF MONEY
Bought this as a gift for my mother for christmas and was highly disappointed as soon as we opened it up. The atari game pad does not work but with only one app. You cannot use this for anything besides the one app, this was big reason i bought this for her to be able to play any only school game. I would not recommend this product to anyone, for anything.

Disappointing - too many limitations
IMPORTANT: download the free "Atari's Greatest Hits" app on iTunes and try it out before purchasing this accessory for your iPad (this is the only app that supports this device).I thought this might be like a more affordable version of the iCade, but when I received it, I was very disappointed. Here are some important details to consider (caveat emptor):1. This is a one-app accessory - there are no indications that this will ever be supported by other developers or even future apps from Atari.2. Only portrait mode games are supported, landscape games cannot be played (and the Atari's Greatest Hits app does not give you an option to switch between portrait and landscape - each game is either only portrait or only landscape).3. Most cases for the iPad will have to be removed in order to place the iPad on the device.4. Atari's Greatest Hits only has one free game (Missile Command), otherwise you need to make additional in-app purchases of $0.99 for a 4 pack of games or $9.99 for all "99 games."5. Many of the "99 games" are Atari 2600 games, only around 25% of them are arcade games (from 80's era).6. This controller does not require separate power - it is powered from the iPad. However, that also means that it is not possible to charge the iPad while it is attached.I knew about 4-6 before buying and 3 is not unexpected, but 1 and 2 (especially 2) make the iCade a much better purchase, even at a higher price.

Love it!
Brings back old memories. You need to purchase the games however it was $9.99 for 100 of them so a very fair price. Purchasing games was a little cumbersome, however. Otherwise it works great and is a lot of fun!

Retuned it because
It worked for so few games, unless you want to buy the Atari games you love each separately. And where did Defender go???

Atari - high entertainment value for college students!
I received Atari Arcade as a gift, and wasn't sure what to expect at first. Even though the Atari generation was before my time, I've enjoyed getting to play these old school games with a new school feel. The set up process is effortless. All you have to do is download the Atari application and plug in your iPad. Each game is pretty straightforward. So far my favorite game is Centipede. Now for the usability ... the joystick is bit hard to maneuver, especially on the space oriented shooter games (hard to aim). Maybe I just need more practice time. Generally speaking, this is fun introduction to 1st generation gaming system. I've had this system set up in my living room for a week and it's gotten a lot of use by 20-24 year old college students. Clever and compact design. Great/effective iPad integration. I would recommend this game to teenaged/adolescent gamers.

APPS apparently no longer available-Caution
Nice enough unit but just a paperweight. I bought it as a use for my old ipad, searched high and low for apps but they are apparently no longer available anywhere. If someone knows otherwise please post in answers.

Decent arcade fun
This item is alright. It is amusing for sure. Take note that it will only work for the specific Atari App and nothing else. For an extra 10 bucks you can get all of the available games. Note that many of the games you will remember from the late 70's and early 80's were not made by Atari so do not expect to play Pac-man or Galaga. For the Atari Arcade there are 99 games and they are either atari 2600 titles or late 70's early 80's arcade games from Atari of which only a few are memorable and with some of those like Missile Command, Centipede and Millipede you are left wishing for a trackball.

Great device
This does exactly what it promises. I love being able to use the old-school controller to play the old-school games. It was worth it for Adventure and Tempest alone! Highly recommended accessory for your iPad Atari games!
