Pillow covers have crease that wont come out after washing and it says not to iron, how do I get the crease out ?

Even though ironing is not recommended, I placed the cover on the ironing surface, warmed the iron to steam and placed a bath towel over the pillow cover and steamed out the creases. I had no problem at all with the designs sticking or fading. I definitely would not recommend direct contact between the pillow cover and the hot iron.
