The auger looks very good solid construction and more than likely can do a bang up job.I had to send mine back... ordered a 3" and got a 2". Was going to use it to set fence posts.and this one is just to small

Live in Alabama. Probably says it all right there hahahaI tried to plant a flat of ground cover on a very steep hillside using a $50.00 specialized shovel for cutting through thick roots which left me drenched in sweat, literally sliding to the bottom of the hill and without a single small hole successfully made in my rocky hillside. Bought this auger bit for my power driver Hand held drill and within 20 minutes I had successfully drilled 12 holes and added soil conditioner, topsoil, the plant and pinestraw mulch and the new plants were ready for watering. This was a game changer for me. I’m not sure as I read through many reviews What any of the complaints were about?!? There was no problem whatsoever with the auger – with the right amount of power I have to say – the power driver may have been the key - an old-fashioned corded or battery powered drill might not have accomplished this job as easily if even at all.

This is amazing if you are simply wanting to quickly plant flowers and don't feel like tilling the entire area. One word of warning though is make sure you have the torque setting on and don't have the drill in drill mode when using. The jerk of the drill stopping cold would break most peoples wrist. That is also a huge pro, I live in a rocky soil area and after hitting a dozen rocks and I mean high speed wide open on drill I can attest to the fact the auger is still in great shape with no bends or curls in the bit. Would have saved me a lot of time if I had known this existed sooner.

I have tree whose roots are everywhere and bushes that were pulled up. This drill bit was able to get through a few roots so I can plant pretty flowers quickly. I used a post hole digger prior to ordering this and it took forever.

Arrived quickly and seemed to work well... although wobbled a bit due to the drive shaft that the drill tightened onto was off-center (see photo - defect/sloppy manufacturing). Thought it would be OK and I'd live with it. Then the bearings on my drill burned out because of the wobble. I requested a refund and they said it would be refunded, AFTER I return the defective auger at MY EXPENSE! The auger is HEAVY and return shipping would cost me close to $10. Thanks for nothing!
