Excellent "engine builder" game.
Excellent "engine builder" game. Simple rules. Short play time. Everyone playing will feel like they can put together a fun engine, puzzle style, that feels satisfying in the end.

My pick for the game of 2019
This game is incredible. Pretty quick to learn, the hardest part is learning the symbols, and the game provides a handy reference for that. Scales amazingly well from 2-4, and is simply a joy to play. I am continually amazed by the strategic depth with only a hand of 8 cards to work with at the beginning of the game. One thing I recommend, play with a dealt (random) hand while learning the game, but do drafting once you know the rules. Drafting is where its at with this one.Easy to set up and take down, games consistently under an hour, and they always leave me wanting to play just one more.

One of My Most Anticipated and New Favorite Games
I have been waiting to pull the trigger on this for a while and I am glad I finally did. This game has been in and out of stock and I see why. The game mechanics are amazing and despite my game group not being as nerdy as I am with fantasy lore and all, they really enjoy this as well. Its a regular favorite at our board game nights now. It plays a lot like 7 wonders but with added tools to help you win in unique ways. Some of the instructions arent as clear as I would like, such as adding essences to cards (What is the point in some cases) other than to move that resource to the next round but other than that I still find it really enjoyable and I am looking forward to buying the expansion immediately.

Phenomenal Game
One of the best engine builders out there. Easy to set up. Easy to learn. High Replay-ability. Ton's of builds and strategy. This is a must have for anyone interested in engine building and hand management.

Great game, slightly imbalanced
A fun, easy-to-learn game with light engine-building mechanics. The design is elegant, the art is luscious. Luck is a bit too much of a factor, as if you start out with a meager opening set up it is difficult to come back from behind. Games are light and quick for this genre.

Fun game
Fun game that now has an expansion available and another expansion on the way so the game has great re-playability. Shipped quick and arrived perfect. So glad when they ship in boxes, game boxes need to be in good condition as they hold all the pieces when you are not playing the game and are displayed on your game room shelf.

Elegant - simple but deep!
For a simple game that plays within an hour, Res Arcana has quickly become a favorite of my game group - a bunch of hard-to-please hardcore gamers well marked in Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, Twilight Imperium, Scythe, Dominion, and everything in between. Tom Vasel's Dice Tower review was right on - especially when playing with the draft variant rules, this game is a MASTERSTROKE!

Great ‘engine building’ game from the master of engine builders
It takes a bit of time to get familiar with the symbols on cards, but once you get past that, this is an elegant engine building board game that gives player a lot of options to approach victory. Mr. Tom Lehmann has fine-tuned the genre to near perfection.
