The media could not be loaded. I love it! It heats water for coffee /teas/cup of soups in about 15mins not bad!I have 2 complaints about this item, minor tho but it does knock a star off1 the spout is to small have to pour at the corner2 is the plug is slight to big for the acc. Power supply in my car.

Yes, it does bring water to a rolling boil...BUT....
I've been using it for several weeks now, and it still seems to be working fine, but I must say that I really don't care for its design. For one, the lid is not watertight, so if you're trying to use it while going down the road the water can slosh out, and the narrow base makes it pretty tip prone, which is a very bad combination. (We applied Velcro strips to the bottom of the base, which has worked really nicely in keeping it from turning over.) Next, once you have your water heated to the desired temperature, good luck pouring it without getting it everywhere. The spout has a very poor design that causes the water to dribble down the front of the pitcher and onto whatever's under it. You have to pour it at a certain angle, at a certain pace, to get it to pour cleanly. Try doing that while your husband's driving 75 miles per hour down a bumpy highway. And then there's the power consumption issue. We've found that it doesn't have any problems running off our 12v outlet in our big rig truck, but it blew the fuse when we attempted to use a 3-way outlet splitter. All in all, it gets the job done, but if I had the purchase to do over again, I definitely would not buy it. There have got to be far better versions out there.

Gotta Get This ROADPRO!!
I have to say that this is probably the GREATEST thing EVER invented! No longer do I have to suffer through 8-hour-old coffee sludge from McD's in the late afternoon/early evening! Or long lines at $$$$tarbuck$! No more sitting/standing in line for my morning cup! No more mourning an empty coffee cup while sitting in traffic jams! Find yourself some INSTANT COFFEE (or one of those coffee filter toppers for your own cup and just add a scoop of your own coffee and let it filter away) and say Good-Bye to those long lines! I love my RoadPro 12v Smart Car Pot! Just plug it into my cigarette lighter outlet and smile lovingly at it for about 10 minutes and it is READY TO GO!!P.S. Make SURE that you see the white light shining in the bottom of the INSIDE of the pot! That means that it IS plugged in/functioning/heating properly! I didn't know THAT in the beginning and I let out a string of "not very nice" words! No problems since then! Love, Love, LOVE THIS!!

Love this thing
I do a lot of road trips and I was looking for something like this to made tea and/or instant coffee in the car. I wasn't expecting much. In fact, I wasn't even expecting it to work. I ended up loving it though. It's pretty straight forward. You put some water in the pitcher, close and secure it, and plus it into the cigarette lighter. In about 15-20 minutes, the water is hot enough to make tea or coffee. I've used it many times and haven't had any issues with it yet.I've only used it while the car is running and wouldn't risk just using it on battery. I also wouldn't suggest using anything other than water.

Filled the need perfectly!
I was looking for something to heat water for instant coffee, tea, freeze dried meals, etc., while on the road that a) wasn't too large b) would work in a 12v system and c) wasn't prohibitively expensive. This little gem did the trick just fine. It took about 10 minutes to heat 16 ounces of water from cold to hot (not boiling). My reason for not going 5 stars is that the included mounting bracket is "flimsy" at best and is in no way usable in any fashion in a moving vehicle. Anticipate the need to rig up a better mounting method than suggested in the documentation with the provided bracket. Fortunately for me, the center console in my vehicle has enough room to hold the base and water pot while in use.

True to the reviews, but wish the lid opening was a better set up...
Just used this for the first time today. Took it out on the boat to make coffee. I read the ratings of it before purchasing it, but never read about the tight seal to the plastic lid that you see on the left. I'm concerned about two things.. breaking the plastic when trying to pull it out a little to raise the lid OR while getting it open with the tight lid, I spill hot water on me. If the manufacture is out there - please consider a better mechanism for the latch. Otherwise this product lives up to the reviews. Took me about 15-20 minutes to bring the water to an almost full boil.

Since it worked so good, I bought him instant oatmeal and cup of ...
My husband is a long hauler so I bought this so he could heat up water so he could have a cup of coffee. It takes about 45 min. to get it to boil. So what he does is he has it strapped to the back of the passenger seat and it is plugged in. When he knows he is going to stop for the night he turns on the button so when he does stop he has boiling water for either his coffee, tea. Since it worked so good , I bought him instant oatmeal and cup of soup. He said it works perfectly. He turns it on an hour ahead of time and then when stopped he fixes his soup. He has hot oatmeal in the morning and he even uses it during the day while driving if he wants a cup of tea or another cup of coffee. He love's it so much I am purchasing another one so he can use 2.

Smaller than expected, but works great
the picture makes it look bigger, I should have noticed it was only 20 ounces. It works as desired so I am happy. Be sure and run your motor while operating the water heater or it will drain your car battery.

Rubbish, after 50 min I gave up
I don't know if my was faulty, or just rubbish. I think it's the latter. I read mixed reviews some people are boiling in 15min, some in 40min, so I thought I would give it a try.I have a battery meter connected so I could see what it was doing. It drew near 100W for a long time, but then it would drop to 1-5W for a few seconds before going back up to 100W, after a long while I noticed that the peak dropped to around 80W. But as I title says, after 50min and the water getting to 89°C, I gave up.

Super handy, worthwhile purchase.
Bought this 3 years ago. I was spending a lot of time in my car and a lot of money driving to coffee shops. This purchase was totally worth it. It boils just over half a litre in about15m which is plenty of water to whip up a coffee and a portion of oatmeal/Mr noodles on a whim. Im not sure what the included small angled metal plate is for – despite there being a little slot for it to slide into on the kettle, it just awkwardly hangs off the side of it...This drains a lot of juice from your car battery so make sure your engine is running for the greater part of its use and it shouldn't cause you power issues.Never tried boiling eggs or anything else IN it but as a general rule I would refrain from putting anything but water in it.

took a little fiddling
It takes a little fiddling to get it working the light has to be on or its not heating. and its slower than you might be used to, after all the car system is a smaller but it does heat to boiling and did make coffee in a press pot and cup o soup on the road so we were happy. its not easy to find a kettle that works in the car and this one does the trick. When you are driving a long distance how long it takes is a bit of a mute point, you're not going anywhere.

NOT 1 Liter Capacity
Amazon or the Supplier should either provide/screen-for accurate answers, or Amazon allow customers to ask Suppliers directly. The responder to a capacity question stated it is 1 liter. WRONG. It is about a half liter (0.592 liter to be exact - as stated on the product box). I needed a full liter in order to make a 1-liter French Press coffee pot. Essentially capacity should be included in the Amazon product description.Additionally, the answerer stated it takes about 20 minutes to "heat up". This seems like a long time for a half-liter. Otherwise it seems nicely designed, and I like the cordless pour, as well a spill resistant lid catch. But I may return it due to the capacity issue.
