Start with book 1. So funny
I could see this playing in my head like a tv drama while listening to the audiobook. It’s about two completely different women with different life goals. Porn money & wannabe mummy is a comedy about lives curveballs.Poppy wants to be a mum. She’s been trying for a while and the stresses of not getting pregnant weigh her down. She’s in her thirties and her life isn’t going the way she planned. Her dad needs her support while her sister-in-law seems to be steeling the show. Can she find her own happiness?Jazz has been waiting to get access to her inheritance. She thinks it’s the key to her happiness but when she finally gets everything she wants life isn’t going the way she wants. Can she find the money/life balance she needs to make her family happy?I listened to this audiobook as part of a blog tour. My opinion is honest and my own. I would recommend this book to readers who enjoy life’s drama comedies. It has a serious undertone but is about two women trying to grown up. This is the third book in a series but can be read as a standalone.

Funny, fast-paced chicklit
A few pages into chapter 1 and I find that I have laughed out loud at least three times already! Yes, I LOVE Laura Barnard‘s humour, and her Debt & the Doormat series is the best. The story opens with Christmas day at Poppy’s parents house; it’s a large family get together where her mum, Meryl, is already sloshed at 11am! Poppy’s mum is hilarious – cringeworthy, but hilarious. It’s a great opening from the onset. The Debt & the Doormat series continues in a fun and natural way as we meet our favourite characters a little further on in their lives; Poppy is now married to Ryan and trying desperately for a baby, whilst Jazz is living with Ollie at his and Poppy’s parent’s house with their little Jemima. Whilst the pressure is on for Poppy, with no sign of a baby, the story is set up for some embarrassing doctors visits, all the while she is trying to keep it a secret from her family, which proves difficult when it’s rubbed in their face when super-bitch, sorry, sister-in-law, Grace is pregnant. Oh… and Ryan’s ex, Nicole! And, then there is Jazz, Poppy’s BFF, who inherits her father’s money of £20 million. Yes, £20 million!!! Of course, Jazz can throw her money around, party, go crazy, but will it be at the expense of her loved ones? It’s a great read for fans of the series to continue reading the antics of this crazy bunch, but it also can be read as a stand-alone for new fans. With so many characters in the series, it amazes me how I remember them all, but they all have their own traits, and the storyline incorporates them all so well, with many sub-story lines happening with each of them. The art of Laura Barnard‘s writing lies where she draws all of these stories together; they generally connect with either Poppy, the ‘doormat’, taking pity on them and helping as many people out as possible, despite her own stresses, or with Jazz acting selfishly and pushing people away, with a lack of consideration of their feelings.Porn Money & Wannabe Mummy is a wild, fast-paced ride with many twists and turns that will keep you guessing the outcome at every turn. It is the height of chick-lit fun, and I have always placed it next to Bridget Jones and Miranda. Therefore, if you are fans of these, you will also LOVE this series.Aside from the chaos and the characters, another aspect I love about Porn Money & Wannabe Mummy is just how contemporary it is, e.g. there are references to how schools treat kids, and a fun mention of The Walking Dead! There are also some new characters to welcome; one being Aunt Beryl’s new fellow, Simon, who will leave you in stitches, and then there’s Rupert who is only briefly mentioned but I wouldn’t mind hearing more from him! This really is a gem of a series and shouldn’t be missed!A copy of Porn Money & Wannabe Mummy was provided by the author in return for a fair and honest review.

This is my first read by Laura Barnard and it was brilliant! Focusing around Poppy and her group of friends and family and the antics of their lives combined.Poppy and her husband are trying for a baby...a little unsuccessfully and despite the saddening circumstances they face, the laughter at the hands of Poppy and her accident prone ways will have you in kinks. I chuckled frequently at her from scenes to do with apple juice, STD testing, tampons and 'paracetamol' use ;)Her relationship with her mother and father is also something to keep you throughly amused. with her father receiving news to give him a new outlook on life there is a recurrent theme throughout the story of him trying new adventurous aspects of life - much to Poppy's dismay!Poppy's best friend, Jazz also faces her own set of storylines after a bit inheritance and despite saying it won't change her, she pushes away some of those closest to her. In the story of her recognising this and trying to help her friends is sweet and endearing - she and Poppy have one of the strongest and most hilarious relationships and their bond is evident throughout.I think with the story having so many storylines it felt a little busy but it didn't detract from the humour and toeing relationship this group of friends have and how they all pull together when needed. A truly uplifting and hilarious read that had me in tears of laughter frequently!A pleasure to read!

Laura Barnard is a legend
Well just when you think Laura Barnard can't top her last book along comes another. Our two favourite ladies Poppy and Jazz are back. Getting up to mischief and into the usual trouble that follows them around. Both are in relationships. Poppy's mother is still as bonkers as ever. Jazz's inheritance has kicked in, who knew she was the daughter of the a porn magnet. Now she wants her old life back. See how that works out for her. Poppy just wants a baby, it just isn't happening. At times the story is quite sad but it told in such a humorous way you cannot help but laugh. The mishaps as usual are hilarious. I defy anyone who does not laugh and have a big smile on their face at the end.I am really sad that this series as come to the end. I have laughed out loud reading all 3 and just love Laura's writing. Her ladies are not perfect, the periphery characters being their own craziness into Poppy and Jazz's lives but to be honest it's what I have come to expect. Check our her books they are a real treat. I have downloaded others but to be honest this series is now my got back to when I have read something challenging or a little sombre.

"Let's go back to the Madness"
"Let's go back to the madness"....Reviewing on behalf of ROCK HARD ROMANCEOnce again we are back into the crazy, hilarious, mayhem that is Poppy and Jazz's world, with this latest creation from the very funny Laura Barnard! Although it could easily be read as a standalone,I'd recommend reading the previous two (The Debt & The Doormat/ The Baby & The Bride) to get the full appreciation of these two character's and those around them!I don't want to go into that much detail as to the plot(would give way too much away) but I will say there are topics which are, in real-life serious conditions, but here,in their world, you will find yourself as I did, laughing out loud throughout from beginning to the end-and that is all due to the writing which draws you in,and the character's you care about! We essentially have two stories running alongside one another with the dual POV's of Poppy and Jazz, which adds to the enjoyment of the book as a whole-the situations they find themselves in and how they each deal with what's thrown at them,is funny and in certain parts emotional, with a very pleasing ending (Woo Hoo)

... I was excited to see the return of my favourite duo Poppy and Jazz
After reading the first two (which were equally amazing) I was excited to see the return of my favourite duo Poppy and Jazz. After inheriting a lot of money from her Dad Jazz goes about making some changes in her life (que some hilarious moments) to get back to the luxury life style she was once used to but after some dramas with moving and a rift between her annoying yet lovable mother in law and her partner Ollie she realises money maybe isn't what really matters. Poppy and Ryan on the other hand are suffering with their own problems (still lots of laughs in their story though) as they struggle to concieve a baby, this means hospital visits, flashes from the past (bumping into Ryans pregnant ex) and more embarressing moments for Pops. The ending is the best and its the perfect way to end the story !

Gets better and better
I must admit that it took me a while to get into the first booking my sister had read all three of them and insisted I continued. I'm glad y did as mid way through book 1 I was laughing, book 2 was laugh out loud and book 3 was hysterical in places. End of book 3 had the each factor. Will definitely look at authors other books now.
