Gordon Parks: How the Photographer Captured Black and White America

This is a very nice children's book with full color, gloss, nicely illustrated pages. Unfortunately we ordered it thinking it was a collection of some of Gordon Park's work, so we returned it... but because of the quality and our love of Gordon Parks, came very close to keeping it, but we don't have any young children to share it with. Hated to let it go!

This was a wonderful book to read in my classroom. It gives a beautiful account of the life and work of this journalistic master of photography. It is great to have books that spotlight the lives of African Americans accessible for young children.

Used as a class reference in conjunction with other sources to present a big picture or world view. Gives a 'small picture' view of Gordon Parks' life. Clear and useful.

All about his life. I'd never heard of Parks before, I think he's getting more famous. As he should be! Well-written book about him.

It's a gift for on of my Great-Grans

Beautiful illustrations that do justice to the poetic words in this biography of a legendary artist. I was mostly unfamiliar with Gordon Parks before picking up this book, but am so glad I took the time to learn his story. He achieved enormous success during his lifetime, particularly concerning his prominence as an African-American photographer.

This is a Kids Book, and was not notated..

This book is meant for children, adults will find the book interesting, but not written for them. Almost in a comic book style.

i got this at a glance,and it was a book for five year olds,should say childrens book,my fault non the less,but way too expensive,and a bit of a waste of money! I don't mind making mistakes,but price far out reach the book content!
