Wow, definitely the way to go for any calligraphy enthusiast... or beginner for that matter. What I received was much better than what I thought I’d be getting. Pen and tips are of good quality and sport a desired result when applying the ink to the paper. At this price, I might be snagging one or two more as gifts.Note to anyone having issues with the ink not drawing into the split of the nib. This is commonly experienced with new pens... especially the fine tipped nibs. So common, in fact, I’m surprised it’s even a thing people complain about. Almost EVERY new pen I’ve used has a manufacturing residue coating the parts (prob to prevent corrosion while sitting on a shelf). Anyway, for those experiencing this, you can clean them using a toothbrush and detergent, acetone and swab, or quickly take a lighter to it. CAUTION: do NOT apply the heat for long to the tines, as it can easily remove the “spring” from the nib - making it unusable. If you try the later, you just want to pass the nib back and forth across the flame. If carbon builds up, gently clean it off before use. The tip will look a little dull after doing it, but that’s normal.

I got this to practice Quenya/Sindarin (they're the names for both forms of Tolkien Elvish). The bleed in the writing is due to the low quality paper I used for this picture. The pen set is perfect for practicing. They give you ink that you shouldn't care too much about wasting. Again, it's for practice. They give you four different colour options in case you get excited and want to write fancy stuff to your friends. It's got a cute little holder. It's easy to change out heads and way better than the speedball kind.

I gave this as a gift to my niece who specifically asked for a calligraphy set for her birthday. I had a hard time picking from the many different options. I picked this one because for the price, it looked really nice. I wasn't disappointed when I got it. It came in a very nice box and the product seemed really nice! My niece is only 9 years old but she is talented so I wanted to giver her something more "professional looking" and not some kiddie stuff.
