Hot Air Rework Station, LED Display SMD Soldering Rework Station, Mobile Phone Repair Tools with 3 Nozzles (858D)

I picked this up to do some repairs to an Xbox one. It needed the HDMI timing chip replaced. Unfortunately I didn't do my research and this unit does not heat up enough to melt the solder used on the board. It appears to be a good unit. It holds temp well and heats up fast. The wand holder works well and the auto cool down feature for the heat gun worked fine for me. It is not the best quality unit available but for the price I don't imagine that anyone would expect it to be. I wish I had held out and purchased a unit with higher heat abilities. I'm sure I will find uses for the heat gun though so it's not a complete loss.

The first one I got did not go into shut down mode. There was an intermittent connection. So I sent it back and got another. Using the smallest nozzle, set to +350C with air a #6, the second one worked well on a small surface mount voltage regulator.

I have used this unit once to repair a Printed Circuit Board and it worked great. I was surprised at how quickly the Iron came up to temperature and then held. If it continues to work then it will be a great tool and well worth the cost. I did get some stuff that isn't addressed in the manual & have included a photo.

I bought this because I did not want to have the 'blower' cable hanging around - you will note that the air apparatus can be removed. The first did not work at all!!!! Absolute zero function. The second 'burned up'. No, not a fire. When I turned it on, it immediately went into full heat - full blow. I thought that it might be going into a preprogrammed run through. Then I heard what sounded like a short burning. The thing now smells like it had a short. I have not had the time to return it yet. I would not try a third.

This may look like many of the soldering stations out there but this model is one of the few ones that have detachable hot air gun. Hot air gun goes no more than 450 F but I think that is as high as you want to get considering solder can melt around 250 degrees.

The media could not be loaded.  Quite possibly the biggest piece of garbage I have ever bought. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this unless you like safety hazards. As Lawrance already mentioned, these are very poorly made. As soon as I turned it on, I noticed the temperature oddly fluctuating and something burning (smelled like burning plastic), then I heard a loud pop. Video below is after all this happened, turned off.

This rework station works well, the gun heats up quickly. For the price, this is essential tool.Delivery faster & good service, recommend this seller.
