Mine is came missing one pad. i called kohler customer support and they won't even put you on hold, only direct you to the website. what do i do?

Return it to Amazon, get a refund and order another.

Is this a flexible plastic or more rigid like a wood seat?

The toilet seat is a comfortable plastic. It is not as hard as a wooden one nor flimsy. We had one put in our smaller bathroom at the same time we put a wooden one in our bigger bathroom. I liked the plastic more then the wooden one, so replaced the wooden seat. Also, the seat and lid go shut with just a nudge and don't slam like the wooden ones.

how many pads on the seat that will rest on the toilet rim?

Two full size and two that are a third to a quarter the size of a regular pad. The larger two are to the rear of the seat.

The description says it’s quick release but others are saying it’s not. If it’s not they need to take that out in the description

It is quick release, lift covers and pull it back. It snaps off the hinges when you pull.. Then just push back on.. It's number 10 in the instructions.
