PETZL - Zigzag Mechanical Prusik for Arborists, Gray

One of the best ascenders for either moving rope/double rope use or stationary rope/single rope (with Petzl Chicane or rope wrench). Very smooth ascendIng or descending, smooth enough to make me switch from using tautline hitch and blake’s hitch as my go-to in tree working hitch. If there is any negative to using this Petzl Zig-Zag, is it cannot be installed mid-line, the rope must be fed through from a bitter end.

I own both the old version and the new one there both great ! I have seen n heard of the problems , this unique device may have and or will fail . but with proper care and knowing how the device works . it a added bonus to a tool bag for any arborist , even recreational climb for some experienced user may be in hand. I do recommend new users to get a hands on training session it take a bit getting used to but when your ready so is the zig zag both versions ..

The zigzag is all a climber can ask for. It works great and is very light weight. I highly recommend it to anyone that wants to make their job easier

This thing is a dream. I don’t regret for one second buying this. Going from hitchclimber and prusik cord to this was probably the best decision I could have made for climbing. Never dealing with friction in your climbing system is the bomb.

Nice and smooth. Made the change from knot to mechanical and I couldn't be happier.
