Art is awesome
The story is somewhat high-schooly and immature (no surprise; it's timed right after high school anyway) but the art is awesome and the characters are interesting, and there are intriguing plot developments running under the surface that kept me reading on.

You either hate it or love it....
I love this series. I can't really explain why. Perhaps its because I'm such a voyeur...??? (never have been before) I don't know but the characters in this book feel so real. It feels like Ross Cambell just sits down and tape records conversations he has with his friends and then turns it into a comic. There's just something special about getting each new volume, something about these melodramatic, dorky, emo girls just captures my attention and makes me squeal with delight. I love to laugh at how "dark" some of characters pretend to be yet are complete and utter dorks. This is definitely a very niche comic book though, and while I enjoy it I can't recommend it to the public at large. If you like indie comics like jhonen vasquez and others or tragically mundane things this might be up your alley.

Every image a work of art
Ross Campbell's creation Wet Moon could be flipped through as an Art-catalog. Every image is undescribable and the story makes you wan tto keep on reading I can't wait for volume 4 this november 2008.

Well Worth the Wait.
The continuing adventures of a group of girls, some boys and a mysterious monkey-owning FBI agent, who are (mostly) students at a college on the outskirts of the marshy and gothic southern town of Wet Moon. The heroine is Cleo, her occasional diary entries add so much to the character of both volumes, but all the characters get a chance to shine. This volume takes up the story where vol.1 left off the story is very much about characters and relationships and all the story threads feel like sub-plots such is the delicate touch of the authors style. The drawing and presentation of the book is beautiful and indeed qualifies as a mini work of art.Like the first book you need to let yourself become immersed in the atmosphere of the place/characters and as with the first book you will find it finishes far too soon.I would suggest that it is essential that you read Vol.1 first.Roll on Vol.3(Which is out now!).

moon over the freeway
the title of this review is stolen from the new ditty bops cd which makes a great soundtrack to this volume.well, it was a little while in coming, but ultimately worth the wait. wet moon 2 is another dose of goth froth in the supiciously savannah-ish hamlet of wet moon. fans of the first volume should be very pleased with this latest installment, especially all the folks who hoped ross would stick to his guns and keep things ambling along at a remarkably slow and steady pace.this volume, remarkably enough, seems even less plot-oriented than the first book. i found it refreshingly spontaneous and closer to what life is really like (er, from my perspective anyhoo)at art school. little moments take on great significance while larger events are glossed over. all the main characters are simultaneously sympathetic and/or mysterious, annoying and/or adorable.the art, it almost goes without saying, is simply gorgeous. others have already pointed out that ross is one of the very few comic artists who actually draws REAL women. some are waifishly thin, others are downright chunky...but all seem perfectly comfortable in their own skin and you never get the idea that ross is mocking anyone for refusing to conform to stereotypical concepts of physical beauty. most comic artists have only one template for "cute" girls and this usually calls for long, long legs and balloon shaped breasts that defy physics. in addition to this, the storytelling in wet moon is just right and some panels made me physically gasp with surprise or joy.i am not an objective reviewer as i have known ross for a number of years. still, if i really thought wet moon 2 wasn't worth your time i could always just refrain from commenting here...and yet i took the time to write this because i genuinely enjoyed this book. support this series and buy a copy for a friend you really like.

Good, but sometimes a little tedious
I picked this volume up the same time as I did the first volume. While I love this series so far, the second volume didn't thrill me as much as the first one did. Everything seems to be character development, but no real plot progression (at least until the very last chapter or two of the book, that is). This book continues the story of Cleo & her friends. We learn much more about them in this second volume and we watch many of the secondary characters (who may become main ones eventually) finally get introduced to Cleo. It's interesting, but it's just a little slow coming along. Don't get me wrong, I like it, but as a slice of life series it just lacks something I can't put my finger on. Even so, this series is a gem that's sure to please the indie comic fanbase.

Touching and interesting
Probably one of the more touching books to read, the whole story centers on angst, which is ok, and while the drawings are rich, the setting is interesting in that it takes place in the back water of wet moon, rather than a downtown large city view point. The book and the characters cover much of what it is like to be a kid, and be an outcast, with both issues influencing who they will become. The story is touching; book two is equally as touching, but a bit slow.Overall it is a great book to get, book one was more interesting, book two is more about plot characteristics, nothing new happens here.

This series is so good. Sophie Campbell's art work is really beautiful
This series is so good. Sophie Campbell's art work is really beautiful. The story is compelling and drawn out over 6 published volumes (more to come i hope). Lots of atmosphere, lots of good characterization. Lots of nerdy girls who like girls and talk about comics. I'm into it.

On time
Malgré le temps des fêtes, le livre est arrivé à temps! Délicieux comme livre :) Je le recommande. Une bonne histoire qui parfois semble un peu plus underground
