Does NOT fit Gibson Les Pauls
The media could not be loaded. This is my second case from SKB with the same issues. Gibson hasn't changed their les paul shape literally ever, so a case for a les paul should fit a les paul. Two issues which prevent me from trusting it. The headstock rests on the back of the case, not the neck slot. Major fail point for gibsons. The picture shows the indentations that the tuners left in the felt. The second point is the slop of the guitar body. Theres a half inch or more of space between the body on all sides. The video shows how much movement the body has inside. Slop fit on a delicate guitar is unacceptable especially if you are trusting TSA to handle your $1000+ guitar with care. I called SKB and they said that nobody has complained about it before so they aren't going to worry about it, and to send it back. SO I am sending it back and buying a Gibson brand case.

I likey-no Hate here!
I read the earlier reviews. Alot of non-love thrown towards this case. Mine is a perfect fit when closed. My epiphone les paul is a perfect fit also. Tsa latches are a nice touch. Gonna test it out at the tsa precheck line in orlando tomorrow. Gonna red tag it in the jet way. The only thing I see subpar are the hinges on the rear of the case. They dont look very beefy. Time will tell. Rock on!Update- orlando tsa precheck- the short line- the guitar case went through the xray machine and tsa did not inspect it. Very quick. Once at my gate I had the agent red tag the case. They went so far as to make sure it was the last item to lay on top of all the baggage. After the flight I was one of the last ones to get off the aircraft to the jetway. Waiting for me was the guitar case. Not a scratch. ImHappy so far. Been practicing in my hotel room in dallas all week while going to recurrent training at flight safety on the gulfstream I fly. Recurrent training usually involves alot of free time. Why waste it watching tv?Btw. The handle does look cheap but I see no signs of wear so far. Guess time will tell.

Avoid this SKB Case (SKB 56 LP-Style Molded Guitar Case)
When I received this guitar case by SKB I was expecting SKB quality, but come to find out it was made in China. The hinges on the case were not properly aligned when they were attached to the case, thereby "springing them" or bending them in such a way the lid would close properly (when the lid was in the closed position it would rest two inches above the bottom). The interior of the case was also bad, when the padding was installed it was not verified if it would distort the guitar while it was in the case, which in this instance it would. The body end of the case would force way too much pressure on the body of the guitar leaving large indentations in the lid padding. Another issue I found with this case is that it would force the neck of the guitar into an unnatural bend putting too much pressure on the "set joint" ( where the neck attaches to the body). Upon inspection I also noticed if the lid was forced to closed it would push the headstock into the bottom of the case and cause it to rub, not lightly, but very hard (which would eventually damage the headstock). As a personal note, the metal band that edged the case (top and bottom) is a potential problem. If the guitar hit this band when placing it in the case the guitar would be scratched or gouged, SKB needs an alternative method for making sure the upper and lower halves of the case align when the lid is closed.Overall, this was a horrible guitar case and I returned it the day I received it. I am currently using the Gibson gig bag for my Gibson Les Paul Studio 60's Tribute until I can find a good hardshell case for under $200 (which will probably never happen). It looks like I'll be spending over $250 for a SKB case made here in the states. Therefore, if you're looking to purchase this guitar case for their Gibson, do not even consider it.I will have to thank Amazon for their prompt service in the shipping and the return of this case.

Dig it
Ordered this case to protect my new LPJ and I like it. It's very lightweight but I feel like my guitar is safe in this case. Before I put the guitar in I pushed down on the outside of the case with my upper body over it (kind of like the "CPR" position) to see how much give it had and it really didn't deflect much at all. With the guitar inside it's very snug, no movement, and the headstock is "floating" so I'm happy that it won't be bumping around in there. I wish the latches were plastic; I am a little scared they'd get busted off. However, I like the way they're designed. You have to stick your finger kind of inside the latch to pop the release, so it won't open if it gets bumped or snagged. I'd say this is the next best thing to a full ATA case and I'd feel fairly comfortable trusting a workhorse guitar to airplane checked baggage with this, with a few wraps of tape to keep it closed in case the latches fail.

Highly recommended
I love these SKB cases - beautifully designed and manufactured, with a perfect fit to support and protect the guitar. I've inspected many cases produced by other manufacturers, and found none as good as the SKB case. Which his why I own eight of them !

A very solid hard case that's a perfect fit.
Fits my Epiphone and Gibson Les Paul's perfectly, the neck is properly supported and everything is a good tight fit in the case.Very solid, and has done everything I've needed it to in the weeks that I've had it.This is perfect for me to move my guitars around in the back of a car / van and on a flight too.

perfect fit and a great case all round
Great case NOTHING to fault and a perfect fit for the Line6 JTV59 which didnt fit into any other Les Paul cases that I have, so if you really treasure your instrument then a case of this quality for under a £100 is only 10% of the guitars cost and much better than the above average gig bags supplied by line6
