Qianson Thermoelectric Peltier Refrigeration Cooling System Cooler Fan TEC1-12706 DIY Air Conditioner

I gave this item 4 stars out of 5 because the fans on the unit are very weak. I suppose that is because it is made to be used in a refrigerator compartment which would be enclosed so it would not matter. My use was going to be different however, so i got two new fans the right size and changed them both. Now i get a nice air flow for both heat sinks.The fan sizes are 40mm and 90mm in case anyone wants to know for a future order.

When used within it's limits, this little peltier does a great job. I used this to build a climate controlled humidor.A medium sized humidor basically for seasoning. With a temp controller, this keeps the inside of the humidorat a cool 66* F to 70* F, when ambient temps hover at about 80-83* F. Quiet and so far reliable.

I bought this for a camera cooling box for my DSLR, The fit was perfect and I am getting getting 35-40 cooler than outside temp. I tested it last night 55F outside and the inside of the box was cooled to 22F

Qianson Thermoelectric Peltier Refrigeration Cooling System Cooler Fan TEC1-12706 DIY Air Conditioner This Peltier/Fan combo was chosen for its form factor to allow insertion into a 1-1.2" thick Styrofoam cooler. It works VERY WELL. Upon startup, the Pelt and fans draw 6.4 amps but settle quickly to 5.6 amps. It dropped the temp in my large Styrofoam cooler 5 degrees in 5 minutes! Note that the inside fan draws air from the top and blows it down and out the fins. In my case, I only had 1/2" space from the inside fan to the sides of the Styrofoam cooler. I was worried that this would hinder the cooling circulation. It probably does a bit, but not so much that I care.The only gripe I have is that the fan wires are VERY FINE gauge. Soldering lengthening wires is a challenge. But they are no smaller than any other fan wires, so that is what it is.

It works, but could use a lot of improvement, such as better isolation between top and bottom thermal transfer.It will cool something, if made of insulated material, about size of a show box.If you need to get things very cold or bigger space, I would use multiple with better heatsinks and fan.

Recommend better thermal grease,simple assembly,works as should. USE PROPER POWER SUPPLY! Supply should be 12v constant with adequate amperage 400watt PSU works fine for running about 3-4 of these.I made a lockable cooler fridge for my food and drink at work and wired it to run 12v cigarette plug or 115v three prong household plug.
