Everyone likes their coffee a little different, so you are going to have to experiment a little. I would say start with a 1/4 cup of coffee for 8 oz of water and see how it tastes to you.

Q: Is it safe on stovetop for reheating or warming?

Never crossed my mind doing it. The fact that is double wall constructed to keep the heat inside, I think it will take too long to warm it up again. I don't recommend it, but I'm not an expert or the manufacturer.

Q: Is there a filter on the lid?

There's no filter in the lid. I've never seen a French Press with a filter in the lid. The picture in the listing accurately shows everything that is included.

Q: Is this an electronic device? Why is there wattage information?

It is not electronic. You put some hot water in it and then the amount of coffee you want. Fill it to almost the top. Put the top on it and let it set for a few minutes and the push the plunger Dow to push the coffee to the bottom. Leave it that way and pour your coffee
