Duncan Hines Dolly Parton's Favorite Southern-Style Coconut Flavored Cake Mix, 15.25 oz.

This was moist and tasty. Easy to follow instructions. I’d buy it again

I must admit, I modified the instructions -- I used coconut milk instead of regular milk.I also made 19 cupcakes (bake time 18-19 min) instead of layers.My only "negative" comment would be that the cake itself did not have enough coconut flavor for me...but it was fluffy, soft, and amazing.If I can find the mix again, I'll just toss some flaked or shredded coconut in the batter; and may even toast it before I do.

Great taste & moist

I admit I bought this because of the Dolly Parton name. It is very good tasting but nothing spectacular. I wold buy it again for the convenience. Still have to make your own frosting to make this right, but it is a nice mix.

I had picked up this mix in Wal-Mart a few months ago and made the recipe on back for Dolly's Banana Puddin' Cake. It was FANTASTIC! The Ducan Hines Dolly Parton mixes are limited time only; I am sure she will be coming out with new ones, but I was so disappointed when I couldn't find this mix anywhere local. So I went to Amazon and sure enough there it was! It was about double the cost from what it was at Wal-Mart, but still not expensive - less than $3.00 a box - and now I can make three more of these cakes - so my friends and family are happy. Cannot wait to see what Dolly comes up with next!

So this not only makes a truly fabulous cake, but also amazing cookies. I added about a cup of coconut for the cake and the cookies, and a fourth cup sour cream to both as well. To make the cookies I just used one egg, a fourth cup oil, a teaspoon of vanilla (plus coconut and sour cream), then baked 10 minutes at 350. Came out absolutely perfect! Will definitely buy again.

This is prepared using a lot of added ingredients, including bananas. The mix itself has some banana flavor. Some might find that sufficient.
