Wild Witch: A Guide to Earth Magic

Without the word, witch, this could be a book about nature, sort of. I am mostly English and I recognize some of the practices because they are similar to the reverence for nature expressed by my maternal grandmother, mother, and her sisters. My intuition has also guided me to some: sewing sentimental stones into the hem of prayer shawls, burning willow twigs to symbolize the alleviation of pain while praying for a friend, and choosing symbols of the four elements…a stone for earth, a feather for air, a shell for water, and a candle for fire as a gift for a grieving friend. I don’t know that I will pursue witchcraft to the extent of Marian Green, but it affirms the strong connection to nature that I have inherited from my English ancestors. It is a good book to keep and reread.

I was really excited for this one, thinking it was gonna have good info about different herbs,trees & plants, and different spells.. but it has none of that. 'A guide to earth magic' is what drew me in, along with the beautiful cover art.. but after only getting to chapter 2, i don't like it.It mainly talks about magic and nature, and how if ur not careful using witchcraft/magic can be "dangerous". There's also parts that sound very rude and judgemental to me, 'you can't be a witch if you...' type of stuff.Just not my cup of tea.Gave it one star for the beautiful cover art.

Would not purchase again. If I hadn't gotten it for free on a buy two, get one free deal...it would be going back. I'm going to try to sell it though lol.As others mentioned, there is no content to the book of any value. I feel like the book is a lot of basic info for VERY YOUNG, NEW learning the craft. It looks full of good info..it is not.Within one chapter I was done with it, very disappointed in what was being said and lack there of. But I wasted my time and continued reading.This is more a fun college high school, "urban outfitters" / "catch your eye and get it for fun" style book...not one that should be in any metaphysical style store or be read to gain ANY knowledge. Another churned out "witch" book anyone could have written.Unfortunately, I think the book is severely lacking, it's a lot of misinformation or VERY basic, also just a lot of filler.Toss in pile with other "popular" books...

Looks beautiful, but the content is lacking. Style is closest to a Jr. High student's first draft of a book report. No detail, therefore near useless. Look elsewhere.

Not a good read. The content is lacking for sure and I agree with other comments that it was judge mental and kind of rude in some statements. She definitely has very strict ideas about what you “have to” do or not do which I found to be limiting. She also stresses the danger of practicing and needing years of study before even starting. The need for a person to educate themselves is very important but if this were the first book I was reading about witchcraft I would throw in the towel because I would feel like I’d never all the information I need. The cover is beautiful but the content is hard to read, judgmental and defeating. Would not recommended.

This book was a really fast and fun read. There isn't a lot of 'deep' stuff in it, but the authors style and message was clear and concise, and I would not be surprised to find myself reading through this one again, as it really was just an enjoyable read. Very common sense advice, not too many personal antidotes (which I find annoying...) and some great reference info at the end. Very satisfied.

I am still excited to read this book, but am disappointed in the condition it arrived in. Straight out of the box, I notice that my NEW book is dirty. DIRTY AND STICKY. There are sticky splotches on the cover where it looks like someone spilled a sugary drink on it, and the book itself is covered in dirt and dust.

Good book full of info if you dont have a journal get one when you buy this book.

The book itself is beautiful. It didn’t have the content I wanted so I returned it but the illustrations are nice.
