Rituel de Fille Forbidden Lipstick - Moisturizing Semi-Matte, Carnal

This makeup line has the greatest name ever, so I had to try it, and its all natural! I hesitated between two lipstick shades and went with "shadow self" because a couple of reviews said it was a shimmery lilac purple. I probably read it wrong, remembered it wrong, or am color blind because this is a very, very dark blue/purple. I would call it indigo. It is a wonderful color, but went with my fair pinkish skin like a bad bruise. It also makes my teeth look yellow, and they are are not white as snow, but still....Anyway, I gave this five stars because it is a GREAT lipstick. It goes on smoothly, it does not feel thick or gross, it stays in place without drying your lips out and is very easy to apply. I plan to buy more colors and maybe use this one as a eye cream or try mixing it with other lipsticks. I can't blame the color for being dark. I think that on a very dark complexion it would be intoxicating! It really is an amazing color, even if it isn't right on me.Definitely try this line, worth the price, which is low for such a quality product.

I really like this brand, but I returned this lipstick. From the description I was expecting a flushed, warm “my lips but better” shade. For me, it was a bright berry mauve. Staying power was average for a matte-ish cream formula, but it doesn’t claim to be long lasting. The formula feels nice on, it’s not thick or heavy but it is pigmented. The tube/amount of product was on the small size for the price. As much as I like to support smaller brands, $28 was just too much for this IMO. I can find a dozen drugstore lipsticks in this same color with the same performance.

I’ve been using Prey for years. I have gray blue eyes and this color doesn’t dominate when I wear it. Also, I have small facial features ie smallish lips and Prey doesn’t accentuate it. If you put just a tad or a lot it’s classy and not gaudy. It’s great for cool toned skin. I know, shallow, lol

It has a terrible smell and it’s oily it doesn’t really bring out the color.

I love this lipstick! It's a really nice, thick, creamy formula that stays put really well. It's slightly moisturizing and doesn't settle into the lines of the lips. The slim tube is lovely and allows for nice, precise application. Hex is a beautiful, unique color. I will definitely be purchasing another Rituel de Fille lipstick- it's easily the best non-liquid lipstick formula I've ever used.Edit: I am updating this review to reflect a second color I received as a sample to review- the second color is Written in Blood, and is also quite lovely. I do find it a bit more finicky to apply than Hex, and it really benefits from a lip primer and or liner. It's also quite a bit darker on than the product image here shows. I recommend looking up swatches before purchasing based on this image alone. I'm still quite a fan of Rituel de Fille and will likely purchase more of their lip colors. I would give Written in Blood specifically four stars rather than five based on the way it applied.

I love this lipstick. I have been using Ritual de Fille Ash & Ember Eye Soots for a while - (they are by far my favorite all natural eye shadows) so I have been eyeing their lipstick line for months. I finally took the plunge and bought the lipstick in this lovely deep berry color in preparation for Valentine's Day. I am so glad I did. The color is this lovely, rich shade of berry red, and it lasts so long! I only had to reapply it once for it to last a full work day (and that was after eating two meals and drinking several cups of tea/water. Even then, when the lipstick fades, it transforms into this dark, red lip stain that still looks very pretty.) Ritual de Fille always makes beautiful colors - they hand make each product in small batches. Love, love, love this lipstick.

Wow. Just wow. This is a gorgeous color, possibly the best red I've owned. And I do love my red lipstick! It has great depth without being too heavy. And the finish is gorgeous. Lasts a good long time, too and the wear down is impeccable. I find there are three ways to go - straight from the tube, since the bullet shape is well suited to that application; applied with a lip brush for a more polished, sharp-edged finish; and tapped on with my ring finger, my favorite way to go. Gives a gorgeous stain that lasts. I will buy more in other colors!

I love this even though its tiny, its really really great! I was hoping for more of a baby pink, but this is towards lavender and its just gorgeous! Its great that its not toxic and cruelty free :) I love it and am excited to try more products from this company as I am just starting to convert to more natural makeup and wanted to find replacements for the colors I already use but happy to find this new shade i am now obsessing over :)
