Great product if you're willing to accept a few minor flaws.
I gave this product five stars because it is exactly what I needed and expected based on the reviews of others. As others have stated, there are two primary complaints about this product so purchase this product only if these minor issues and/or remedies are acceptable to you. The product is made out of rubber that holds a memory when coiled while hot during the manufacturing process, especially at the core of the coil. This is very easily remedied by performing the following simple steps: 1. Remove product from packaging and place the entire coil in the sink without stretching it out. Put a stopper in the sink such that water won't drain out. 2. Heat a large stock pot full of water until it boils. 3. Using the appropriate personal protective equipment and taking all necessary safety precautions to prevent scalding, pour the boiling water over the coil and watch it magically return to its intended shape like a giant shrinky-dink snake. 4. Allow it to soak in the hot water for a few minutes. Then, remove it with some tongs, let it drip dry for a few seconds, and lay it out on the floor. The curl will be completely disappeared with less than 15 minutes of effort. The second complaint that most people have is that the ink from the product labeling on the underside is transferred to the visible part because it's coiled prior to allowing the ink to completely dry. It makes it look a bit dirty and scuffed upon cursory glance and you wouldn't know it was ink unless you got down on your hands and knees and looked closely. This appearance was acceptable to me, but in the interest of solving the problem I did a little experimentation and determined that you can make it look slightly better with a finish sander and a lot of time and patience. Please note that my results concluded that this method does remove the ink; however, instead of "appearing" scuffed and dirty it actually becomes scuffed and dirty. Given enough time, effort, and sandpaper you could probably get it to look pristine but in my opinion it really isn't worth that much time, effort, and sandpaper.

really durable and works great.
Put this this in the sun for a couple days on warm days, and the curl comes out completely. I've got a 10' stretch of this across the driveway that leads to my back acre where some friends are storing big trucks they use for a tree business, its protecting the outdoor extension cord to my RV trailer that keeps my RV battery happy, its been out there for 3 years being driven over by 1 ton and larger trucks every day at low speeds, and it still looks like it did the day I put it out there. I've had a piece I carefully cut to fit snugly into a high traffic interior door sill with an ethernet wire, thats been there nearly 10 years (that ethernet is the main trunk from the rest of my house to the south end where the family room etc is).

Better than other brands
Wiremold is the usual brand I use but because I only needed a six foot section I bought a similar product from D-Line. It proved to be too soft, and the central section where cables are located, collapsed when stepped on, or even squeezed by hand and provided no protection. I returned it and bought a 15' roll of Legrand Wiremold, which doesn't have the same problem, and also has a tight transition to the floor making it harder to trip over; the D-Line has a rolled edge which is easier to trip on. If you buy the Legrand Wiremold, just be away that only about 13-14 feet of the 15 will be useable, because of the way it's rolled one end had some tight bends from being rolled in the packaging which I found to be impossible to straighten out. I'm guessing they rolled it while it was still warm and more flexible during manufacture, and once it cooled done after being rolled up, the material retained that shape. I'll be buying more of this in the future.

Great, heavy cord hider
I purchased this item to cover two coaxial cables that run along the threshold of my mudroom door. Kids were always tripping over the cables. I searched for awhile to find the best product, and I'm glad I choose this one. It's a heavy material, that lies flat even without using the included adhesive. I was able to stuff both coaxial cables into the channel, though it did hurt my fingers- I had to stop and take a break for a bit before finishing the entire run of cable. It looks great along my flooring, better than seeing cables. Mine did not have any ink bleed onto the product, and the chemical smell went away within a couple days. If you have somewhere outside to let let it air out and lie flat for a day or so, I would recommend doing that. It would help with installation as well as the smell.

Great option for solid surfaces.
I used this to run a thick BNC cable across my office floor. The color is more on the taupe/brown spectrum which is exactly what I wanted. Looks great against brown/gray floors. Installation Notes: Cutting your cable strip ahead of time will make installation easier. Makes sure your surface is completely clean and dry. Use an alcohol pad on the backing of the cable strip before applying the adhesive strip. I applied my adhesive in sections to ensure a perfectly straight line. Be sure to press down firmly along the strip once adhered to the floor to ensure full adhesion. Final Notes: This product has a strong rubber/vinyl smell at first. It will wear off after about a weak. You may experience some difficult curling. You can bend this backwards quite a bit to adjust it and once applied to the floor it will eventually flatten out. If you have time an space, I would suggest rolling it out and putting light weights on the end to let it flatten for a day before applying.

Roomba vacuum failed to go over this cord protector. It is too steep. The robot vacuum will get stuck at the peak of the cord protector and waste a lot of energy trying to go over. In addition there is a gap between the floor and cord protector. It causes the side brush of the robot vacuum to get stuck and break.
