The Godfather saga is to this day one of the very best trilogies ever filmed and these videos are Redigitized to perfection! I definitely recommend you get this box set !

These movies have been reviewed by individuals far smarter than me, so if you want to check up on their watchability, research elsewhere. The quality of these discs are fine, and the supplementary material is perfect for a series that deserves to stand on its own. Even though he is clearly edgy and nervous, Coppola is great in bringing out what was clearly a stepping-stone in his career and making the most out of it. He has stories, and the Godfather movie has always itself been a story that deserves proper telling. Here is your opportunity.

I love the godfather , the book especially an the movie both are brilliant. Being a geek I am always hungry for details an BTS stuff is pretty good the genesis of the movie , very interesting. But there are always more details to add so I will be watching for more.

This review is only about the sound of this restoration. There are countless reviews of this movie out there and if you are reading this you’ve likely watched it many times already anyway. I was highly impressed with the sound quality they packed into this Blu-ray. This is almost a fifty year old movie but the master audio track sounds incredible on a height channel enabled/Atmos setup. There were several scenes that had very engaging atmospheric sounds and the music tension built incredibly well. Definitely get this set if you have a minimum of 5.4.1 setup. I haven’t watched II yet (and probably won’t watch III) so I can’t comment on that one but I assume the quality is the same. Highly recommended.

I really only like Godfather 1 & 2, but I figured I"d purchase the set because of the additional footage that comes on the 4th disk (Supplements). It's remastered in dts-HD-Master, but don't expect miracles in the sound from the original. I have it running through Samsung up-conversion Blu-ray player and Pioneer Elite receiver with up-conversion and the sound difference from the original is barely noticeable. The picture quality is there making it worth the money, in my opinion.

Godfather is a classic and with good reason. It's a great trilogy and the blu-ray remaster is nice. The bonus disc also has a lot of content on it, interviews with the director and such. Only paid $30 at the time of ordering so can't beat that! I've seen the complete set priced $45 at Wal-Mart. Trust me and get the blu-ray. It gives it that extra bit of quality instead of a DVD for sure on this one.

This is one of my favorite movie trilogies. The Godfather part 1 and 2 are iconic. The DVD Blue Ray is mainly clearer than the regular DVD. But, there were a few scenes that were grainy. The sound quality is excellent.

I've owned the original release of The Godfather 1&2 on dvd for years. I really can't see that much of a difference between my original copies & these blu ray restorations. The sound is a little better but not worth upgrading if you already have the dvds

Si la vidéo n'a pas la définition des films récents, je doit féliciter le travail de restauration de l'image (aucun défaut). Je trouvais le début du premier film trop sombre, presque noir, mais dans le bonus, il nous explique pourquoi. La VF est très claire. Et le BR Bonus est excellent. De plus cette version "The Godfather Coppola Restoration [Blu-ray] [Import anglais] " est entièrement en français (menu+ VF 5.1) avec 4 BR dans des boitiers indépendants et une boite en carton (toutes les jaquettes sont en anglais) et ne coûte que 16,74 euro. Une très bonne affaire. Je le recommande.

A fantastic boxset where the trilogy is presented in an excellent HD transfer and full of extra. Watching it again I must say that the first film looks now, if not better than the second one, usually considered the real masterpiece of the trilogy, at least at the same level. I'm not saying that the 2nd is not still great (with its double storyline set in the past and the other showing how everything "evolved" and changed since De Niro poor origins, and its intense drama and strong political and social statement about the twisted side of American dream) but the first one is maybe even more consistent and compelling. It still looks closer to classic gangster's stories, but Brando's character and performance really make it so special and the directing style looks different, darker, even more shakespearing (and less political) than the sequel. What makes those two films unique is that, maybe for the first time in cinema history, the sequel actually is a prequel and a sequel at the same time, so you jump back in the past to see how it all started and it draws a parallel line with how the saga unfolds and evolves as Pacino replace Brando. The third chapter is still the weakest and, despite some bold and provocative statement about italian politics, it loses that sense of almost sacred tragedy and the characters become more like those of a common crime film, as the story focuses too much on showing Mafia new connections and business, and on dramatic relationships among new characters that look just more common without being either tragic or realistic. Frankly too long and not so interesting or tragic.

映像が本当に綺麗です。 時間の流れ方も素晴らしく。 人間の美しさを見事に表現しています。 (皆んな知ってますよねすみません) ということで、 作品の評価は他の方にお任せして (私的には星５どころでは無い) パソコン→再生可 英語字幕→有り ここが大切なのです。 流れが頭に入ってる人は、 是非英語字幕で鑑賞してみて下さい。 原文で観ると格段に人間を味わえます。 わざわざ字幕をというのは、 特にゴッドファーザーさん。 観て貰えれば言いたいことは伝わる筈… 出来たらイタリア語の字幕も欲しかった。 何言ってるか聞き取れない部分が かなりあるので… 英語にせよイタリア語にせよ 独特な台詞の読み自体も味なので そこをもっと味わいたいなっ…！！
