Flew frontier
I flew with my 20lb mini schnauzer on frontier airlines. This was my first time flying with her and she was very scared and moving around alot. The carrier held up and I think being able to open it made her more comfortable at times. She is probably an inch or two too tall for the bag but when she calms down and just lay down she has a good amount of room

My Lhasa loves her expandable "doggie condo"
Pre-flight: My dog (a 15 lb Lhasa Apso) loves this carrier at home - I let her get used to it for months before our first flight. She naps in it at home and sleeps in it (by choice) at night - with both side wings fully extended. We "practiced" having her "under the seat in front of me" by putting the carrier under the living room coffee table, where she happily slept at my feet during the evenings .....in preparation for our first real (Southwest) flight which we took over Thanksgiving.Getting to the airport: I appreciated being able to wheel the carrier atop my luggage, using the side luggage handle strap. She appreciated looking out the front (or top) mesh window as I wheeled the luggage beside me. At the gate, I partially unzipped the mesh top to let her stick her head out and watch all the action.In-flight (Southwest window seat, see first photo): The carrier fit easily under the seat in front of me and I was able to partially open one side wing. In the first photo, you'll see that I angled the carrier under the seat to allow the side wing to open a bit more, and give my dog room to stretch out, as well as poke her head out the top mesh panel while we were at the gate. When fully under the seat, you can simply open the front mesh panel.In-flight (Southwest middle seat, see 2nd photo): on our return flight, I chose a (wider under-seat) middle seat and was able to fully (or very nearly, see 3rd detail photo) open one side wing. With the carrier aligned with the feet of the forward seat, my dog could peek out the top of the mesh panel. When fully under the seat-back, she could still look out the front mesh panel. After our first flights, I am delighted with this carrier and looking forward to many happy travels with my dog!

Works for my pug!
Bag fits my 11 year old 17 pound pug perfectly! There's enough room for him to do full circles if he wanted to! Lots of space even with the sides zipped up!

Sturdy and easily accessible
So far this carrier is great! I flew from Seattle to Chicago and then from Chicago to Syracuse. It was a tight fit height-wise on the first leg of the trip and it's slightly larger than the Alaska Air website dimensions specify for soft crates. However, for my dog I need the extra height (he is an Italian greyhound mix so he is small but had long legs) and nobody gave me any trouble. I really like that I can open the sides up into a dome so he can stretch out. I also like the sturdier sides and bottom on this as well as how many ways it opens (it opens on for sides and on the top). I was able to access him to pet him, give him treats and water him easily throughout the trip. I'm glad I bought this particular carrier and I'm happy with it thus far!

Happily Recommended!
This carrier was what made getting our new puppy back home from Los Angeles possible. Southwest told us we could only use their relatively expensive bag and it was non-refundable. Measurements are always a hit-or-miss thing in cases with an uncertain amount of flexibility. When we received Southwest’s bag, it was clearly unsuitable for anything larger than a lizard. It was either finding an alternative or taking three days to drive back. This bag clearly stated that it was TSA & Southwest approved. Nice thing about Prime is that it IS refundable; so we ordered it. While it was obviously larger, it was flexible enough to push under the seat-a requirement to board the plane. During the flight, the zippered top allowed access to comfort the puppy if needed. Overall, the bag was bigger, better built, at a third less cost. Now all we have to do is find a worthy lizard rescue center to donate the Southwest bag to. Recommended!

Peace of mind while traveling
Waiting for my Southwest flight to take off, this is the view from my seat. As you can see, not only does the carrier fit by height, I could unzip one side and completely open it.My 17ish lb cat made the 3 hour trip beautifully. (The airline scale said total weight was 21 lbs)The carrier is sturdy and well made. The zippers are a breeze to manipulate. There are many different entry points, the top door made security a breeze. The mesh is robust and strong, there was no trouble with claws at all.I even saw another traveler with two of these and his small dogs.On the car rides to and from the airports, the carrier was secured through its travel strap, which was also handy around the handle of my luggage.Overall, I would recommend this carrier to anyone traveling who wants peace of mind while traveling.

Great carrier; zippers could be better
My 18 pounds dachshund loved his little carrier. It has a good design and fits perfectly under the sit.The zippers were a little difficult to close and open. The extra space really made the difference for my dog.

Great carrier, fits fine in Southwest aircraft.
Awesome Carrier! I had a 14 week old German Shepard Heeler mix and was worried about his size before flying. Ahead he was about 18 lbs when we flew and he fit inside the carrier with room to spare. He could turn around with ease. He was 19" exact from nose to base of tail and stood taller than 12" but he laid down and slept with no problem. The carrier itself I was worried about being to tall to fit underneath the Southwest plane seat since they allow a max height of 10.5" I believe and this stood at 12". It fit perfect. Just stuck out a few inches but I had no issues with the airline and fitting my dog in the aircraft. Sucks he's going to grow and this was only a one time use.
