Review: Invicta 10491 Mens Specialty Military Watch - I received my new Invicta 10491 Mens Specialty Military Gold Black Dial watch here on desertcart.com. As what has become a nearly ten year high standard with desertcart.com I received my watch very promptly and in as advertised condition. Now about this watch. I am very happy with this very masculine large and heavy duty watch. If you are looking for a trendy petite type watch this is not for you, it is heavy and it covers almost all of your wrist. Two things right out of the box you need to be aware of. # 1, wish someone would have warned me about the wristband that comes with the watch, it is a very high quality leather wristband, that being said, you will need to rough it in a bit to get some elasticity in it, and here is the important part, the clasp / buckle, find the positions you are going to need and then take a knife and open up the holes a bit so as to get the clasp prong easily through it, dry run the band clasping and unclasping until the clasp secures easily I hurt my wrist as I placed the watch out of the box, right onto my wrist and the prong was stuck in the hole, the prong has a curvature as to seat it securely to the clasp and being new, will get stuck on your wrist. #2, the instructions that come with the watch are near worthless, they are generic and whatever watch you buy will probably not be the right one to these instructions. I was lucky enough to see a review of a similar watch where the reviewer posted the right instructions, I also contacted Invicta and they sent me the correct instructions. Here is some instructions as this review format won't let me post the true instructions. To set it up (as this information is not included in the box), the crown needs to be turned counterclockwise to set the day of the week and clockwise to set both the hour and the day of the month. It is important to note that there is a quick setup button above the crown, you can click on it with a pen and what it will do is change the day of the month on a one by one basis so you don't have to turn the crown endless times until you reach the desired date. So far I am totally in love with this watch, all the quality and style I would expect, and would buy nowhere but here on desertcart.com.... hope this review helps !!!! Review: Big, beautiful watch - I got this watch when it was $69.99. It is my second Invicta and, like the first, I am very happy with my purchase. Like other reviewers have pointed out- this is a big watch. But I don't think that it is too big. It has a nice, solid hefty feel to it that definitely makes it feel like a quality product. The absolutely beautiful dial has an oldschool military look that I was searching for and the silvery sheen you see in the customer pictures is accurate- it really looks like that in person. This watch keeps great time, as well. I synced it to the atomic clock found at time.is and so far it has lost one second in the four days I've owned it. I don't know much about quartz watches but I think that seems very precise. The one big complaint I have about this watch is the band it comes with. First off, it is very thick and very stiff. Maybe with time it would soften up, but I didn't give it a chance. My wrists are rather small (6 1/4 inches) and even after taking the strap to a shoe repair shop and having them punch an extra hole in the band it still was too big for me. I ended up just putting it on a leather NATO strap from Clockwork Synergy on eBay and this has become my favorite watch. The lume on this watch is a little iffy. I am not sure how long the illumination typically lasts on other watches, but this seems to fade away after just 5 minutes or so, even if it has been in direct light for half an hour or more. While it does light up, it is very bright. If I ever need to check the time in pitch black, though, I will just use my phone. Setting the time, day and date were all very easy. Just listen to what other reviewers have said and push the button right above the crown- it makes setting the date a breeze. If you like big, attention-getting (but not flashy or blingy) watches, then this is for you. Please look at my pictures to see what it looks like.

Good looking... and big!
I own a couple Invicta watches and I can say they're my favorite watches among my collection. They are good looking, elegant and well made (especially the slim series) I ordered this one recently, after reviewing the product description and its dimensions, I knew it would be a big watch... which is fine as nowadays this is style commonly used. When I received this I was shocked by the size of the box it came in, it was not the average yellow box from Invicta but a pretty big yellow box. I was relieved when I got the watch out of it and wore it. The quality of the watch is what you can expect from an Invicta, the design is pretty cool and very good looking (though it may be too thick to wear with a long sleeved shirt), the face includes both the day of the week and day of the month.

Nice but big watch.
I have only had this watch for a couple of weeks and worn it perhaps 5 times. In that time, I have received several compliments on it. Invicta does have a nice sense of style and attention-grabbing design. I like this watch quite a bit. First, though, be aware that this is a very large diameter watch. It has a tendency to be a little too big and intrusive, especially if you have long sleeves on. The crown will have a tendency to dig into the back of your hand as well. It is also not very thin. This is definitely not the watch for those who have small wrists unless you're going for the Flavor Flav look. This is a substantial watch. Other than that, though, you can judge from the picture how the face looks. I'll say that the date function is actually rather difficult to interpret as the font size for the numbers is very small and it's difficult sometimes to gauge whether the hand is pointing to a number or to the dots in between. Also there is no way to easily set the date. The crown on my version only has one position and it only permits me to set the time. To set the date properly, I ended up having to work the minute/hour hands around and around to manually advance the date by one day every 2 full revolutions of the hour hand. You can alternately move the hands around to just past midnight and then reverse to just before 10pm and rock back and forth between those two positions to play on the mechanism that advances the date. However, this seems to me to be rather hard on the mechanicals. Once set, though, you should have little reason to have to fight that battle again. The brown leather band is basic and faux (pressed-in) texture. It serves its purpose just fine. I would consider a band upgrade on it at some point in the future, but it isn't a high priority. As with most Invicta bands that are not metal, I found this band to be a little bit short in length. Thus, counterintuitively, if you have large wrists, you may find that the band is not large enough, despite the huge diameter of the watch body. As I said, though, this is a nice watch overall and I do recommend it provided you're prepared for its sheer size. It is not the largest watch Invicta makes (there are several diver's watches much larger), but this is markedly bigger than almost any other commonly available watch you'll find in a department store. I'm not sure, but you might be able to signal low-flying planes with this.

Great looking watch
I have pretty well no complaints about the watch. The price is right, the feel is superb and it looks great. The quality of the build is better than some watches that cost twice this. Attention to detail like the etched "invicta" on the side make this watch seem more expensive. The band is thick and not cheap like most leather bands you get with watches. One thing to warn, the watch is quite big. If you have small wrists and hands, this will fit way too large. Otherwise if I could find one complaint about the watch, is the lack of instruction when setting the time and date. Time is like any other watch, but you need to poke the button at the side with something small to set the date. I found fingers don't work. Another thing, being a low end watch, the second hand doesn't quite line up at the ticks as it goes around, but you will see this with a lot of low end and even some higher end quartz movements. Overall GREAT watch

Form & Function make for a Fantastic Watch
Invicta doesn't disappoint with the 0765 II. Banging about and the occasional mishap won't crack it. No matter the shocks and jostles, this watch keeps time with the best. When you wear this watch, you will receive compliments. And of course, getting a beautiful watch with a quality Swiss movement for under $100 is quite a deal. This is the second Invicta watch I've owned, and I'm continually impressed by just how well they hold up. The thing to remember when purchasing this watch is the size. It is not delicate, and it is not light. This isn't to say that it is overly heavy, or in any way uncomfortable - it's not. The band and case make for a comfortable fit, and there is something reassuring about it's heft, but be aware of what you're considering buying. Most negative reviews I've seen on Invicta watches fall under three categories: complaints about how heavy it is, complaints about how large the watchface is, and the complexity of setting the watch. The first two categories are the customer's fault. There are pictures and measurements and testimonies, so nothing should be unexpected. The final category should never be an issue either, as Invicta's customer service is second to none. They're quick to offer assistance, and always helpful. The watch you're looking at is sturdy, accurate, stunning, and a fantastic value. What more could you want?

Received 3 compliments 1st week, all from surgeons.
This watch is beautiful. I've never bought a watch online and never bought an Invicta, but for the price figured it was worth the gamble. Needless to say the gamble paid off. It's now the nicest, most expensive- looking watch I own (beats my 2nd best looking Bulova watch). After a conference room meeting last week a watch-loving surgeon came across the room and said,"I need to know what kind of watch that is." He was taken back when I said Invicta and said he knew of the company, but never got around to actually buying one yet. Anyway, the watch reaches the "big" category without crossing into the "too big" zone, i like that. It can be worn with anything on any occasion. I'm Invicta fan now, way to make a beautiful quality watch at an affordable price. My only gripe is that the belt is rather stiff and stubborn, almost refusing to conform to the roundness of my wrist, preferring instead to lay straight, annoying at first but I'm sure it's just a matter of breaking it in. Get it, it's a gift at this price.

Wall Clock for your wrist
This thing is massive. The description is accurate in it's sizing, the issue is that the band and curvature of the watch are designed for someone who is proportionate to the size of the watch. If you have huge wrists and want a watch that will not look like a silly toy when worn, or you are an average sized person who wants to wear a clock large enough to immobilize your wrist, this is for you. If you are a normal sized person with average or smaller than average wrists who just wants to join in the over-sized watch trend, you need to look elsewhere. A comment from the manufacturer reminded me of this review today so I thought I would post an update: Since realizing that this watch (while being very cool looking) would look completely ridiculous on my wrist, I gave it to a very large friend in return for a favor he did for me, he was very excited about it as he has a tough time finding fashionable watches that are large enough that don't look like they came out a kid's meal in comparison to the size of his wrist. So while I did not get a watch that I could personally enjoy, it still went to a good home where it could be worn and appreciated.
