Does it work good on plaster

I just used it successfully after taking down cabinets on a plaster wall. Used it to fill holes, chips, gouges, etc and then a thin coat to either paint or backsplash. Easy to use!!!

I'm trying to create a raised design on furniture using a stencil. Would this work well to create the raised texture?

A slightly raised design, probably be fine. The texture of this is not thick and heavy. Sanding with this is minimal.

is this stuff the same thing as 'PollyFiller' in the UK please?

I don't know PollyFiller but it works great on dry wall. It dries hard and sands well.
