Excellent
I should have purchased this knife from the get go instead of monkeying around with Bark River. This knife is really tough and won't rust, at least not very easily. It is very sharp and holds an edge very well. The leather handle is awesome. I can tell that it will get better and better with age and provide many years of use. However, it's fairly slippery to hang onto. Maybe it will develop more grip over time, but if your looking for something that really sticks to your palm, find a knife with rubberized grips instead. The leather on this knife is sanded smooth and the overall finish is impressive. I like the natural feel of traditional leather combined with this impressive blade. Expensive knife but worth the money.

Well...
Vg10 wouldn't be my first choice for a bushcraft knife. It actually tends to lose its edge rather quickly, although it will take a razor's edge. There are many knives out there for near or around the same peace of not over $100 cheaper that will do everything this blade does and more. Vg10 is a Japanese chef steel. It's the gold standard of chef steels from what I have collected. Its a great pocket knife steel if you like having a stainless razor sharp blade in a pocket knife. But for bush craft there are many steels that surpass vg10. S30v being one of them. The traditionalists would point you towards 1095 and or 01 tool steel. Both are Easily sharpened. High carbon steels that really do hold an edge for a long long time. S30v not so easy to sharpen requires diamond stone to sharpen effectively in most cases. You can sharpen 1095 with sand and water on a plank of wood. Same with 01. Though they are not stainless. It's give and take but you get a lot more than you are giving up. There are many awesome "super steels" out there. To summarize vg10 is quality expensive steel but not the best for bush craft in my humble oppinion. Fallkniven makes elite woods blades though so look for another steel from this maker of u can afford it. A knife is your most important tool so dont hesitate to drop 300 on a great knife that will last your lifetime and maybe even be able to pass it down.

Looks like a very well made knife
Looks like a very well made knife. Only gave it 4 stars because I have not got a chance to use it in the field yet.

Excellent knife
This is a great knife, and I own many. No reviews that I have read have mentioned it's larger blade, but it's lightweight portability. It weighs nearly half the weight of my A1 pro. I look forward to hiking with it.

Fallkniven has outdone themselves!
World class construction. The laminated VG-10 blade is amazing for all-around knife chores. An heirloom piece worthy to pass down as you'll find a piece of your soul bind to it. There are many reviews that go into depth on this knife, but I just wanted to agree that it is well worth the investment. The provided sheath is not bad, but I suggest that one invest $100-150 in a custom sheath for such a great knife.

Elegant & Tough
Phenomenal knife; a Hattori blade and Swede sensibility. What’s not to like?
