Good for the price
1k miles and no leaking, used Teflon tape on the fittings and it’s doing just fine. 3” hole saw they send couldn’t cut its way out of a cardboard box. Other than that, overall the product is great.

Installed and works as it should. It went together easy although the provided hole saw is a piece of crap as stated in other reviews, so make sure you have your own before you have a bad day trying to use it. Several months in and it has held up great with no issues.

Works great if you seal the fittings properly (advise a flat rubber or teflon washer)
The sump pickup was easy to install and price was really good compared to name brand ones. It it a bit bulky and obviously hangs lower than the fuel tank about 1”. The design is good but you may want to mark which side is feed and return. I installed it on a 2004 Ford F-250 and decided to modify my fuel tank skid plate to keep the protection (see pics).Take your time cutting the hole with the supplied hole saw. The more precise your cut, the better the fit. Be sure to clean the surface of the tank, the sump o-ring slots, and mounting face (I used a wire brush on the inside of the sump). For extra leak protection, I used teflon tape on the two bolts that hold the upper and lower parts together. Leaking from the supplied brass fittings was inevitable since there is no flange or flare. The first time I put it all together, I only put a few gallons of fuel in the tank to check for leaks. Yes, it leaked about a drop every minute or so from the fittings with just teflon on the brass threads. So, I drained the fuel out and and removed them. The second time was successful, I wrapped the threads in teflon, put a thin o-ring on the fittings then cleaned the sump threads well and applied Permatex (gasket maker) BLACK OIL RESISTANT RTV lightly inside and on the brass threads. Once the fittings were tight, I packed RTV over all of the fittings and let it sit for several hours to cure before putting fuel back in. No more leaks! I believe cutting a chamfer to allow an o-ring to seat would solve the issue but, a flat rubber or teflon washer would probably do well too.

Well worth the $$
Nice heavy high quality sump for my lift pump install. I bought this not only because it was reasonably priced but I also wanted a sump with the extended fuel retun straw so I am not drawing hot fuel right back into the pump. Many other more expensive units lack this feature so for me it was a no brainier. You'll also appreciate the hole saw the kit comes with - although it was of opposite quality and actually broke before I even had a hole in the tank.Bit oF advice - drive off as much fuel as you can before the install. My 2007 classic Duramax had a mostly full 36g tank when I did and this part was the worst part of the install....and the messiest.Let's just say I'll no longer be able to use my 30qt ice chest for food as it will apearently forever reek of diesel fuel.

Good Value and Works as Advertised
This wasn't an easy installation, but it wasn't difficult. I installed the sump in a 2013 Chevrolet 3500 long bed. I didn't cut completely through the tank with the hole saw. Left maybe 1/32nd or less and then just with a knife. I had very little pieces in the tank to clean up. The hole I cut was in front of the stock unit and about 1 1/2 inches towards the outside of the tank. The arm for the stock fuel sending unit come forward and by cutting the hole off of the center of the tank I hand no interference with the arm. I did do some deburring inside the sump to clean up the threaded areas. There were a few fragments that could have come loose. Other than that the machining and fit was perfect.

Great product
Ight, lets be real. Go ahead and get you a 3" hole saw. Like others said, the one included wouldnt cut through a wet napkin. But the sump itself is great quality. I had to debur some of it but even the highest quality stuff comes the same way.

Junk
This is a total piece of junk you can not get the fittings to stop leaking, I used over half a roll of Teflon tape on the fittings and they still leak, so then I found some crush washers that fit the fitting and the other half of the roll of Teflon tape and they still leak. it feels like they were drilled and tapped for metric and the fittings are standard thread very loose. the hole saw wouldn't even go through the plastic tank before it broke. like I said total JUNK.

Great value, but a few missed beats
Other reviews have eluded to leaking issues. I also experienced these. The holes however weren't drilled to big, but the included fittings were to small. I'm attaching pictures to show the difference between a very high quality 1/2" npt to 12an adapter and the included barbs. After converting to an seems to be a pretty good value. I'd give 5 Stars if they just didn't provide any barbs and have the 1/2" npt specs. The included hole saw worked great, double oring and return tube all great. Also, labeling input and output would have been a nice touch, I scribed arrows with pick for future reference just in case my memory fails me.
