Add optane for a fast hot little portable
I put an Optane M10 in one of these and it is about the most performant "thumb drive" I have ever used! Neat product, even though Optane does make it pretty hot, and I have one laptop that can't power it. Not painfully hot btw, but worryingly hot for a thumb drive! And other nvme SSDs that don't use so much power should work in any to most laptops... but I just wanted to test it with Optane and see what properties Optane had though the USB 2 and 3 interfaces. Fun, quality product to enclose your nvme drive!

sub-sata speeds on linux
I tried using my brand new HP 1tb ssd (that on a modern linux box clocks in at about 3200MB/sec via hdparm) but with either usb port, I get about 425MB/sec. sata usually is closer to 500 or 550, so this isn't even up to normal sata speeds.system is an i7 box with latest linux, properly configured.also, trim is not supported via USB, so this really is not a very good chip (JMS583). I'm not impressed. maybe next generation will do better but for me, this is a total waste of a high-end ssd.

Good performance. Test results below.
My average resultsUSB 3Read 350gbpsWrite 280gbpsUSB CRead 700gbpsWrite 350gbpsNot bad for a generic PCIE to USB converter. Speeds were constant even when transferring large files (movies) of around 250gb.Note however.. performance is affected by your computer and the amount of power your computer can supply to the unit.If you have a lower performing ssd in your computer then expect low transfer speeds as your computer can cause the bottleneck. My results are coming from using samsung 970 pro nvme on both on my computer and the enclosure.

Really is nVME
I used it to replace another m.2 dongle that I thought was NVME. They both are, but the adapter I was using apparently is not. This one has the ability to do C or B at max speeds so it doesn't need any adapters.

Works well but gets hot
Used flawlessly to migrate from 512GB nvme to 1TB nvme in an HP Envy 13 laptop. It is a solid metal case and gets quite hot, I actually had to use kitchen glove to remove it from the laptop after I have completed migration.

The only USB-C gen2 nvme case without cable. Wonderful
I was a little skeptical about this product, because there were just a few reviews. even compared to the other Qnine product with cable.I really don't like carrying the usb-c or usb3 cables, So I did a try.Oh it's a real Gen2 speed. - I attach Blackmagic speed test.It works both on USB-c and USB3.I still wonder why it did not receive high remarks.

Ok
It works, but no caps is no good.
