Looks good, not good flavor.
This was a great gold color. It was easy to use with a paint brush. We used it to paint molded chocolate and then added the cherubs to cake pops and a cake for a baby shower. It stayed tacky for a while. We were not impressed with the flavor. It had a strong alcohol flavor, like a vodka or vanilla liqueur. Overall it made the cake more beautiful.

Awful Taste
Awful experience. The product did not meet expectations on color or taste. It required heavy amounts of the product for any actual coloring. This made the product it was used on not edible , it had a terrible smell and taste. Will not be ordering this again. No refund options .

Perfect color
I used this to paint a cake rose gold and it worked great! The cake was frosted with buttercream that I froze for a bit before applying the paint. Only 2 downsides: it tastes terrible - I knew this from the reviews, so I want surprised, but also wanted to clarify here. It tastes terrible if you lick it, but when I ate frosting with the paint on it (dried) and didn't put the paint side directly on my tongue, I didn't notice it much. Second thing was that my cake has some pink spots from the paint, I'm guessing it happened because of condensation on the cake after being frozen, but there wasn't anything I could do about it. It's not a huge deal and I'm probably the only one who noticed, but I did, so I thought I'd mention it. Otherwise it went on as expected and turned out great!

Happy with metallic Pure Gold decorative Edible paint
Had to do much research and read several reviews before deciding what edible gold paint I needed to get for my royal icing sugar cookies. After reading reviews on this one, decided to purchase the Edibleart Decorative Cake Paint in metallic Pure Gold. I did what a few others indicated to do first and foremost shake really well. I was afraid of the taste as a few people had said it had a bad taste. So, I mixed it with a very small amount of pure lemon extract, and a small dash of goldish dust powder to give it shine just in case. I let the white icing dry COMPLETELY before painting over them, and then I also let them dry completely (overnight & into part of the morning /early afternoon) after I painted them. I did make an extra one so I could taste it before proceeding in coloring them all. The gold paint was tasteless! I would recommend this product as long as you do what many have said to do.....Shake well, mix with an extract IF YOU'D LIKE, VODKA OR EVERCLEAR. Just note, I first tried vanilla extract and DID NOT like how it transformed the gold, turned it more of into a copper color. So, I used pure lemon extract since its clear, and it worked out best anyways since my icing does have a hint of lemon to begin with.

Kinda yucky
I used a paint brush and splattered this onto cupcakes. It comes out nice, but does not have a pleasant taste. Two of my kids also said that they felt it ruined the flavor of the cupcakes.

Nice color
Small bottle. Nice color. I will not use it for a few weeks so I will update once I do. Its a bit pricey for the size but if it works it will be worth it. UPDATE: It has a horrible tast that burns the heck out of your throat. Luckily I only put it on removable items and the cake was for my daughters party. It was a nice color with a good shine but in the future I will only apply it to things that will be removed and not consumed.
