Very informative. Begins to trace a new trajectory of feminist theory in this "post-feminist" era.
The period from the late 1990s to the present has been known in literary criticism as a post-feminist era. Feminist theory has lagged behind in the interval witnessing the post-millennial turn from post-modernism and studies of social construction to the new emphasis on "Modernity": and "real" lived experience. This book begins to fill in the gaps by pointing to new "material feminisms" whereby the materiality of the body and "lived experience" might be brought to bear on feminist inquiry/the female body.Cassandra Laity

Fantastic
This book is great! If you are looking for an introduction to material feminism this book really does a great job. Most of the essays in the book are easily accessible for anyone who has a basic understanding of feminist theory, or even critical theory. I really enjoyed reading this book.

A word salad of epic proportions
Recommended by a friend of mine of dubious intelligence, this is a collection of meaningless essays, using big words and phrases discussing ill-defined concepts and ideas, the sort of stuff the Right uses to ridicule feminism. Reading this made my head hurt and my heart ache.
