Works well, easy to use, lasts for commercial use
I’m in an industry that uses a LOT of 12 volt battery chargers every day. This one is easy to use, easy to read, hard for trainees to mess up with. Coming in the next day to uncharged batteries is a Very Bad Thing where I work. This charger passes all the tests. It charges quickly enough, and doesn’t have a complicated usage. Some chargers need a double click. Some chargers need to make sure you push THIS button and not THIS button. Some chargers take forever to give you a reading. Some chargers if you push the wrong button, you’ll ruin the battery. This one is hook it up, it instantly shows you the percentage. Push the one button, off it goes. Display changes to show that it’s charging. Done and done. This one seems to last longer than many other types as well. The clips also seem to be well attached. Some clips pull off easily. These are strong clips that are well attached. Clips are important when you use this daily. These are good clips. My company uses probably 10 or 12 different kind of 12 volt battery chargers. This one is my best recommendation.

Works great!
Bought this to mostly charge batteries on 2 old cars I have in the garage and a motor cycle. One has 7 year old battery and the other one is 10. Hooked this thing up and it worked it's magic checking and prepping and both batteries fully charged. It took overnight. I also have a solar project with 2 100 ah lithium batteries. Wanted to keep them in good shape since it is not put together yet. On auto and lithium, it would only do 13.6 volts and 2.5 amps. Lithium wants 14.4. So I set it manually to 8 amps and it started to charge at 14.1. Takes 11 hrs at that rate so paused it and set to 15 amps. It jumped up to 14.7 volts which only takes 5 hrs at 15 amps according to battery info. We will see how it last. So far it is above my expectations.

Great battery charger. Great price.
My minivan wouldn't start one morning. AAA came out and told me that the battery and electrical system were good. So they tightened the battery post connectors and got me started and they were on their way. The next morning the van wouldn't start again. So thinking this was going to be a chronic problem, I ordered this dandy battery charger. Great price, easy to use and Amazon delivered it two days later. I hooked it up and the battery completely charged in recondition mode overnight.Turns out that I had left the dome light on and THAT was what was draining the battery. Anyway, I'm glad I bought it. I'm ready for any electrical problems.

Nice product, minor issues
I'm giving it 4 stars, because a few things bugged me about it. I bought this for my GF and her daughter. I did not do my normal research but this had a lot of high ratings so I bought it. Trying it out myself, some things surprised and aggravated me. It was extremely small and light, unlike other chargers I have. I assume this is because it's not a high amperage charger. The clips for attaching to the battery or other connection points are not copper. I'm no expert but pretty sure I've never seen a charger with non-copper clips/clamps. I assume the clamps are less conductive than copper, but is that a big deal here....probably not.The plastic protection on the clamps is so thick I could not clamp to the side-mount terminals on my truck battery. And yes, I know you should not connect directly to the battery, but I sometimes do. Had to connect elsewhere.I connected to my seldom-driven truck and the charger indicated the battery was at 60% charge. It charged for about a minute or two before I decided I needed to reposition the charger. When I reconnected the charger almost immediately, it indicated 100% charged, and would not start charging. I assume (like a lot of smart chargers) it was thrown off by the 2-minute surface charge (again, I am no expert). I could not get the charger to start charging again until I turned on the headlights to drain the battery a little, then reconnected the charger and all was fine. The charger showed this same peculiarity with other batteries. I should look at the instructions to determine if I need to do something different, but I've noticed when the charging is complete, the unit appears to shut off completely. Maybe it's a timing thing but when left charging all night, the charger appears dead the next morning; nothing on the display, which bothers me. It immediately shows 100% charged when you turn it back on.All in all, a great charger for my GF. It has the usual protections against reverse hookup and all that. The display continuously rolls through various status screens and is informative. Again, except for a little aggravation, I'd have given it 5 stars.

Just what I needed
Although I haven't used this charger yet, I really like the bigger charging clips. My old one has really small ones that don't really fit the battery terminals and takes a lot of adjusting. I think this is going to be a big improvement over the old one. It's small and light weight, but feels sturdy and well made. So much better and more handy that one of those super large chargers.
