I am a Warhammer 40K miniature painter and I use acrylic paints. I was looking for a carrying case for my existing professional paintbrushes. So my review and my rating are really based purely on the carrying case itself. The cheap paintbrushes that were included with this set were really just an added bonus for me, personally.So, what do you get? Well, you get the carry bag, a water colour sponge, a palette knife and 9 paintbrushes in sizes 000, 00, 0, 1, 2 ,3 ,4 ,5 and 6. The carry bag zips shut. When you open it up, you can raise the two paint brush holder panels inside so that they lock into a pop-up position using Velcro strips. Ironically, the two sides have varying thickness of holding sleeves for the paintbrushes. Even though the set of 9 paintbrushes that you get with this set have quite thick handles, I managed to get all of the paintbrushes into the sleeves no problem as you will see from the photos. I am very happy with the way the pop-up stands hold the brushes securely in place and allow me to swap out my own professional set of paintbrushes while I am painting.As for the quality of the paint brushes... look, for the price you can't expect the same quality as you would get with, say, a W&N Series 7 brush, but they seem to be okay and I'm sure they would work fine. I would even go as far to suggest that they would be ideal for any new or fledgling miniature painters out there to work on their skills before they splash out on more expensive brushes.For me the biggest draw, and ultimately the reason I decided to leave this review was the carry case itself which has solved my paintbrush storage problem. The biggest tip I ever learnt during my journey as a miniatures painter was how important it is to store your paintbrushes flat, i.e. horizontally, and not vertically (either with the bristles up or down). Storing the brushes horizontally prevents the bristles from splaying and losing that perfect sharp point at the tip.

I couldn't wait to get these to finish the final details on my painting. When they arrived it all looked great. I started packing them in the bag, but very quickly realised they don't all fit. The one side has six positions, here they fit well, the other side however, has nine positions. Only one of these held a brush the other eight positions were too small for a brush to even be squeezed into. There was also a terribly strong unpleasant smell on the bag. I returned it the same day (first time I've returned a product from Amazon).

Love the paint brushes. Very well made and easy to use and hold. Bristles are well shaped.Only knocked off a star because the case has spaces too small for the paint brushes. Most of them fit. But I had to unpick a few stitches to fit the rest in the holders.Otherwise good product

Purchased as a gift for a model railway enthusiast who has reported that this is an excellent set of brushes and are used regularly.

Bought these as a Christmas present and this set is horrendous.The trowel was badly skuffed with sharp edges exposed and some of the brushes had thier bristles folded which can't be straightened out. Take your money elsewhere.

Some of the holes are too small for the brushes to fit. Therefore I had to only place it on the elastic instead of the hole pocket. It is weird as it comes as a set and it still doesn’t fit. However in terms of the brushes they are great I’ve had no problems

Son recommends. Great precision brushed for tiny detail on warhammer. Which he uses them for. Stand is a nice thought. But I am not sure he uses it!

The right hand side has the brush holders way too small and half of the brushes cannot be placed. The only way(just for some of them) is tu use force, and be imposible to take out. That's because there are 6 holders on the left and 9 on the right...Two of the brushes's heads were pressed on the opposite direction by the head protection...Was a gift, therefore, i wouldn't recommend.
