Ringke Cell Phone Case for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 - Retail Packaging - Black

Really happy that I took the time to dig through the available cases on Amazon until I came across this one. Having previously had one of the top selling brand's cases for my Note 3, I was a bit skeptical about buying another chunky, slippery, hard to put on and remove case. I came across this Ringke case and felt it might suit my needs so I ordered one in black. At this price you can have two for the same price as the other guys.The case snaps right on and fits snugly. All of the hole cutouts are in the right places. It is matte on the outside and feels slightly rubberized as a result. It definitely feels like it adds some grip and makes the phone easier to hold. The plug holes are large enough to plug in cables with oversized plugs and the cutouts for the buttons are large enough to comfortably press all of the buttons. It barely adds any thickness to the phone.The only possibly issue I have is the very thin lip around the edge of the screen. It should protect the screen when placed face down, but it could be a tiny bit thicker to provide a little more space.Bottom line is this case is perfect for someone like me who works in an office and doesn't need a heavy duty case that protects their phone from constant dropping or impacts.UPDATE 1/14 - I dropped my phone a few times on New Year's Eve (no comment) so I wanted to get another one of these since my original one got scratched and dinged up (the phone survived fine!). I ordered Gunmetal instead of SF Black this time, thinking it would be the same non-slip matte feel material, but its completely different! The gunmetal is a hard plastic and is really slippery. Downgrading 1 star because I think the case is way too slick without the rubberized coating.TL;DR: BUYER BEWARE: THE SF BLACK IS THE ONLY COLOR WITH THE RUBBERY-FEEL COATING. The others are hard (slippery) plastic.

I have had this case (in black) on my Galaxy Note 4 for a couple of months now, and I am completely satisfied. I compare it to my friends phones who are using bulky cases and I am glad I went with this one due to the very slim profile. Granted, I know I may be sacrificing some protection in exchange for that slim profile, but to me it is worth it as I consider myself a low risk to drop my phone. 95% of the time it's either sitting on my desk at home or at work or in my pocket.The texture on the case is smooth, which I thought would be problematic for holding...however this is not the case. The edges of the case are angled in such a way where it creates a stable grip that fits nicely in my hands. I have yet to have the case slip out of my hands even when barely holding it while trying to stretch my fingers across the Note's large screen.The smooth texture allows keeps dust and lint from sticking to it. I've used cases in the past that were dust and lint magnets.If I can think of one downside is that it is rather easy to leave fingerprints/smudges on the back of the case. Not a huge deal and I've only noticed it if I use my phone right after putting lotion on or something.I did not use the included screen protector, so I cannot comment on that.

If you're looking for a lightweight, slim case that offers scratch and wear protection this is it!As others have pointed out this won't save you from a concrete impact - it wasn't designed for that (despite marketing that might make you believe otherwise). This is a great case to protect from everyday life - it protects the camera lens with a small lip and offsets the screen just enough so that you can set your phone down on the counter, screen facing down, without worry about scratching things up.Ships with an included PET screen protector which I'm currently employing on my Verizon Note 4 (as 2 tempered glass ones have halo'd very badly) which is a nice addition, particularly at the already affordable price-point for this case.This case DOES require some minor modification for use with a Verizon Note 4 (I cannot comment on other carrier devices, I only have Verizon to evaluate). The lower left microphone is set approximately 3mm farther left than other carrier models. This means that the case's small holes used for sound passage are covering the mic - not good for clarity! A simple drill bit (I sized the right one by slipping bits through the existing microphone hole on the case) and less than a minute of drilling makes this fit perfectly and not a single person has mentioned or even noticed my modifications (as they shouldn't, it's on the bottom of the phone).Strongly recommend for a minimal, light, low profile case for your Note 4.

I purchased this case because I was looking for the something that would not increase the footprint of the already large Note 4. This case absolutely meets that requirement. The case is designed to mimic the original lines and curves of the Note 4. It's thinness allows the Note 4 to keep its original aesthetic.The case easily snaps in place and can be easily removed. This is very important for those that need access to change the battery on a daily basis.I ordered the black color which has a matte rubber finish. The texture is nice and soft but the only downside is the finish absorbs your finger oils, so smudges and prints appear. If this bothers you, I would choose another color since I believe black is the only one that comes with the matte finish. This downside is not enough for me to take away any stars.PROTECTION!!!I recently dropped my Note 4 from about 4 feet high and it landed on the corner. Death Spot for cell phone glass. Like someone taking a bullet for a loved one, the Ringke case absorbed the impact and prevented any damage to my Note 4. The impact caused a stress fracture on the case, so I'll have to order a new one. I'm fine with that because the case did it's job, which is protect my Note 4! Highly Recommend!

I had a Spigen case that still holds up quite well and I may still use it in higher risk outings / situations, but for the amount of times and distance I drop my phone, I wanted something that would protect AND still look sexy; as well as not take up so much room in my pocket and hand. I find this case actually improves the feel in the hand, compared to naked, as the phone is relatively thin at the edges. This Ringke Case adds VERY LITTLE thickness, but it is just enough to add to the comfort and adds a Slight bevel so it will keep the screen off a flat table surfaces, but even then, the included screen protector reduces that worry. Thickness is SLIGHTLY higher than the phones buttons, which is nice and thin while giving the buttons (While still exposed for ease of use) a bit of protection from surface grazing / bumping.Lets talk about the included screen protector for a sec. I wasn't going to bother putting it on. I mean Gorilla Glass 3? Who needs a screen protector? Well, this one went on so easy and clean, and actually does add a really nice texture to the screen - seems to reduce smudges more than the naked glass. I think I'll check how much they are on their own.Case Texture is nice. Slightly soft so it will not go sliding off the hood of your car if you need to set it down for a bit. It IS a little prone to fingerprints but once I got past my confliction with that the fingerprints kind of melded into this wispy, foggy pattern that ended up looking like a nice soft texture instead of smudges. They don't accumulate heavy and gross.Thickness of case is below the protruding camera lens, so that gives an idea on overall thickness where most cases go at least a millimetre above the lens all the way around. This is of course countered by a slight raised bevel around the camera lens to protect it from resting on flat surfaces. Very well and discreatly executed.Also of note, I have an add-on Qi Wireless charger inside the phone, which tends to add a millimetre of bulk to the centre of phone and effect most cases, but not this one. That was one issue with the Spigeon - it would actually go slightly crooked from that slight bulge effecting the covered buttons. This Ringke is STILL a perfect fit.I was concerned about the notches on the corners of the case and how they would look and how they may effect the structure of the case but it actually looks pretty cool - no rough snagging edges as a couple others have reported, and it is still a good, durable feeling case.I'm Considering buying a second as I can definitely see a crack happening from an inevitable ridiculous drop - kick - even higher drop kind of thing in the next year or so. My life is like that when things DO happen, they happen dramatically.So in summary, in case you haven't figured it out, I was quite impressed with this case and recommend you grab it if you want some protection and a comfortable, attractive case.

Bought for its low form factor and to get a new feeling for my phone after almost a year straight of my old case. The feel is quite nice, it's not to slippery or to sticky. It almost feels like I have no case on the phone with thing on which was very nice and allowed me to be a little bit more rough with my phone but still feel that beautiful Note 4 design. The reason for the 3/5 stars is due to the upper right (near IR blaster) and bottom right corner (SPen) that have broken off. The bottom break was due to the non complete perimeter of the case which caused a snag inside my jeans and broke the plastic when I pulled it out. The bottom right corner simply broke a piece off when the phone fell and landed on it. It's really unfortunate as I really like the case, but it seems to be fairly brittle (as to be expected for its weight and form-factor). The good news is the phone sustained absolutely no damage in the fall and the case worked! Overall, the case feels really good in the hand, but it's fairly brittle for falls, and if the corner snags on something the plastic might tear like mine (In under 2 months of use). Included are some pictures of what the breaks look like.

Great Case. Not 100% sure how much protection it offers, but it gives some protection, while not adding much bulk to an already huge (and pretty durable) phone. Offers a very nice tight fit and the hard plastic with rubberized coating make it easy to hold. I didn't use tthe included screen protector as I already had a glass one.Highly recommended.

The feel and design is excellent with sleek design and comfortable and smooth to hold in hand and the product is as described.However, the canada post service was the worst part, every time I order, they leave a notice card, even being staying at home just waiting for this one. Has to spend 6 dollars just to pick up this from nearest PO.What is the fun in that? I do not know, only canada post will answer..Rafi

super thin and a bargain, one of the few cases that makes the phone look a little better? Very pleased - texture is easy to hold, snaps on easy, and doesn't scuff after a week and a half of use
