Why is the mat in different colors?

The white is just highlighting the pattern so you can see it better they are solid dark pink

How wide are these Molds? In other words, how long will the lace piece be?

There are multiple forms in the package ranging from approx 4" to 6" in height and about 6" in length. I used one on the side of a 10X3 cake. I had to trim the mold down a bit so that it would fit on just the side and used several pieces to go around the cake. It looked nice once down but wasn't all that easy for me. I'm a novice at cake decorating.

Can I use the silicone fondant mats for sugar veil lace?

That is what I purchased these for... I have not used them yet but I do believe they will work perfectly ! In fact I don't know how someone could use fondant with these... there is a very fine lace pattern ,and I think the cake lace will turn out beautiful.
