A great book to have.
If you are into cooking, the Addams Family or just all things possessed of a dark and slightly twisted sense of humor then this book is for you. You will love the cooking themed cartoons and the fact that the recipes (no matter how many oddly named) are indeed real recipes. The only fault that I can find is that there are fewer recipes than cartoons. Even so I would defiantly recommend this book to any home cook with a sense of humor.

FOODIE ANTIDOTE
Charles Addams has provided the perfect antidote to those whose endless (and too serious) pontifications about food, recipes, and cooking bore the rest of us to tears. Not for him the variously colored broccollis and pan sauteed almost-extinct weird fish of the day! Addams' recipe for wild squirrel is a fine counterpoint to all the hoopla surrounding fine food. And the cartoons, which document the foibles of us all as we gather and prepare our nourishment (the Addams, of course, eat Eye of Newt, etc.) are priceless.

Something fun for the children
Yeah, some of the cartoons were previously published, but most of them aren't. It's the theme of this book, and the layout, that makes it hysterically funny for me. A recipe for actual stuffed hearts on Valentine's Day - brilliant. The world misses you, Chas. Thanks for all you left us here though,

Not many recipes but still a pretty cool book!
My only disappointment was that there were about 10 recipes (no exaggeration) and the rest of the book was mostly comics. (Although I guess to be fair it IS called a “half-baked” cookbook...) If you know any true Charles Addams or Addams Family fans, this could make a great and unique gift for them!

Got as a present
Got this for my mother for mother's day, since she's a big horror fan. She loves it and the whole family likes the recipes she makes from it. My little sibling likes reading the cartoons.

De belles illustrations, qu'il est enfin possible de voir de plus près. Une chouette compilation sur le thème du repas!

Fun as always but the print quality of this edition was not too die for
My main reason for rating this edition 3 stars is the print quality of the book. The pictures are not very clear and the paper quality is akin to mass market. Maybe that is also why it not too expensive.

You rang...for dinner?
To anyone who loves the Addams Family and the wonderful cartoons that led to the television series, films and so on, this will be a treat. It isn't really that much of a cookbook, though there are a few recipes, borrowed from various sources and picked for their weirdness (of course). In the main, however, this is a collection of Charles (or 'Chas') Addams cartoons selected by his widow, many hitherto unseen. It is an eclectic mix, spanning the years and featuring many that appear rough drafts, rather than the intricate finished masterpieces that appeared in The New Yorker and elsewhere. Their rawness feels like an insight into the mind of the cartoonist. As a whole, the collection is fascinating and an absolute delight for fans. 'Mushrooms Fester' might well have the same effect!
