The wire is rated for 20,000 volts. We do not have a joules measurement available as this is not how our wire is tested.

Can anyone give me directions on how to use this to keep squirrels off a pole bird feeder?

You need to have a power source for the wire but also if you have it at lower levels you may shock someone or another animal you don't intend to shock. We use it above a fence so unwanted animals don't get in our yard.

can i use this for a trellis for grapes?

Don't. 17 gauge is pretty small. It's going to break if you pull it tight enough to hold up grapes. Something more like 12 gauge will work a lot better for that purpose.

I am being harrassed, can i use this inside my room on baseboards?

I’m not exactly sure what is harassing you but I’m thinking rodents. But I’ll say yes, but keep in mind you will have to also string a line for grounding purposes. Distance between positive wire and ground wire running parallel to each other would depend on size of what is harassing you. Making sure it or they touch both wires for good zap! Good luck!
