California's Channel Islands

Good historic perspective on a little know part of California. I only wish I could visit these islands first hand though I've spent my entire life admiring them offshore. Frederic Caire has a very interesting heritage when it comes to these islands, especially Santa Cruz Island and his grand-father would be proud of him.I'd give it an additional star if he had additional detail from those who have visited these islands. There must be thousands of stories from Stanton friends and relatives alone.

I knew some of the history about a few of the Channel Islands. Chiles provides an amazing amount of historical facts. It's a good feeling to have learned about all of the island relationships. Thoroughly enjoyable!

It was a gift for Christmas. I never saw it.

Satisfied my curiosity about these islands. Nice section about the lone woman of San Nicholas Island which inspired the book "Island of the Blue Dolphins."
