C is for Chicago (Alphabet Cities) Board book – Picture Book, January 1, 2013

This book is fine. It's just that we both feel that children books have to be extremely precise and not-irritating in their language because they're so short, and they get read many, many times. The letters here sometimes seem to represent fairly random things. Some of the rhymes also didn't make much sense to us, as in:"C Is for Chicago, Second City, and Third Coast,From the lakefront to the skyscrapers, it’s a city with the most.""It's a city with the most" is not the best phrasing anyway (but most was rhyming with coast, so there we have it). Also, it's the Second City, Third Coast, but it's the city with the most? How does this work logically? I know this might be nitpicking, but toddlers understand things very literally, so it's hard to explain that the author"just wants to say Chicago is the best, even though it's not the city "with the most" literally... Meh. Rhyming is tough, we know, but every verse should make sense.

Absolutely love this book! The details are fantastic and covers chicago so well - we bought it for our toddler right before we moved back and she loves it!

Excellent book for kids. Interesting and colorful

We have looked through this book with our kids several times now and each time the experience produces a fun discussion about the places they have visited - or want to visit someday. My kids are fascinated by the illustrations and make up creative stories each time we turn the page and unveil a new place in Chicago. I wouldn't be surprised if my kids end up sharing this book with their children someday.

I bought this book for my grandson to have fun reading about Chicago in a fun way. I was disappointed that “F” stood for at the Great Chicago Fire that was started by “a naughty cow.” Not true.

Fun ABCs on the inside, gave it as a gift.
