Never give up. Got it all hooked up and working to voice control.
I'm not an electrician, but getting all these wires attached and back into the box is very difficult. The face of the switch seems very light weight and we were afraid to press it too hard to get it into the wall with all the wires, so it sticks out a little bit. I downloaded the smarthome app like it said and went to switches. It says to choose the Wall switch, but I don't have one on the app called wall switch......I have tried a dozen times to connect the switches (which I installed in every room of my house), but can't get a single one to connect to the app. I have a netgear Nighthawk WiFi Tri-Band. I assume it will automatically hook up to the switch.I do like that I can turn on the switch by just pressing on it instead of flipping a lever. They look very stylish and they light up so easy to find in the dark....which I shouldn't have to if they responded to my voice commands.Just wish I could connect to my smart home and Alexa. :( If someone would contact me and walk me through it. I'm not an idiot. I hooked up my TV, Dbot Vaccum and IRobot mop to my apps and Alexa, no problem. After posting the first review, I was able to set my wifi for 2.4 gz. Then programmed my switches all in about 5 minutes on Smart Home. Easily linked smart home to Alexa app and now everything works like a charm. So happy with my voice controlled switches.6 months later I have now bought switches for every light in my house. I am having some issues with loosing connection on some of the switches (random each time) when there is a power outage. I have gotten really fast at reestablishing connection when this happens although it ticks my husband off every time. Went on vacation and was able to turn on and off lights from my phone during the nights to make it look like someone was home. Love this feature.

Leads are too short, won't fit standard EMT Decora faceplate (w/o modification)
These switches appear to work well enough. I am using these to remotely control lights to my out building. Here are some notes from my installation, however, that made it less-than-great:(1) Although the claim is that these will fit into a 2 gang box, these likely will not. Why? Because the leads on the switches are so short you will find yourself adding a 3" wire extension to each lead -- which means an additional 3-4 wire nuts stuffed into the box. The leads are maybe ~2.5" long, so technically they are long enough you will find you can get your hand in there once you get the 1st & 2nd wires connected..(2) I ended up putting each switch into its own metal EMT double-gang deep box, each with a single Decora-style metal faceplate. Luckily in my case these are surfaced mounted in an outbuilding so it was relatively easy for me to split what was previously 2 standard (non-Decora-style) switches to 2 individual boxes.(3) These switches are too tall for standard EMT decora-style faceplate. This was easily overcome by using wire cutters to snip about 1/4-3/8" off top and bottom ears of the switches, after which install was "standard"(4) These switches do not have mechanical rockers. Instead, these are touch sensitive. If you're fumbling in the dark you will not get the tactile feedback of a mechanical switch to hit. Also, see note #5 below.(5) The switches are illuminated, true. However they are reverse of what you would expect. The switch illuminates when the light is ON and the switch of dark when the light is OFF. Huh? Yes, that's right. These aren't bad switches but given these notes, I will try the Kasa Smart (TP-Link) switches for my next round. I already have a few in hand and I see that they (1) have mechanical rockers and (2) have longer leads.Thanks-

Switch seems decent but instructions are very subpar
If you are replacing a switch that is wired exactly the same way as this new switch it would likely be very easy. However, I ordered a "2 gang" switch and the instructions were only for a single switch so I wasn't sure how to handle the 4 neutral wires in the box with the 2 neutrals on the switches. After a LOT of trial and error I bundled all 6 neutrals together and it worked.Once they were in, I thought the wifi connectivity wasn't working because the indicator was not flashing as the instructions said it would. I was about to pull all my hair out, but luckily there was an Amazon user who said you had to press and hold the power indicator for 3 seconds in order to get the blinking light. Once I did that, it all worked well and pairing / hooking to the Alexa app went smoothly. One other weird thing is that the upper left screw hole on the switch plate isn't threaded (see photo) so I can't put the screw in there. The switch isn't in a very visible area so I am not too bothered by it, but I would be very disappointed if this were in an obvious place.

Very good, minor Smart Life app problem.
The switches themselves work great and integrate with Alexa perfectly. I found them easy to install, though I'm an engineer so your experience may vary depending upon your comfort with installing electrical devices. The only issue I have is with the Smart Life app. When you turn the switches on or off by pressing the buttons in the app the display doesn't turn from white to green, or vise-versa, and the app doesn't know the switch state has changed. I have to completely exit and re-enter the app before it knows whether the switch is on or off.UPDATE:I discovered that the Smart Life app issue only occurs when using a local network and VPN. However the VPN is set to allow local network access, and the issue doesn't occur with other devices controlled by the app. So while these switches are definitely handling local network communications differently, if you don't use a VPN it's not a problem.

Switches work fine but only work on the 2.4ghz "channel width 20"
I didn't have any issues getting them setup but I wanted to point out that the version "currently" being used is only compatible with 2.4ghz using the channel width of 20. If you use anything else they will not be able to connect. The only other negative issue I have encountered is that some of my family click the button and it don't take so they hold the button down which is the reset feature so I have had to re-program the switches a couple of times. But otherwise they work fine and I haven't had any hardware issues just a few people issues.
