Used the cheap, glue type just to save a little cash. Bad move, the didn't stay put in the Florida sun, the 'chrome' wrinkled & cracked when going around any curve. I removed after about a month and had to spend an hour cleaning the glue off my paint. I replaced with this and the quality is so much better. As soon as you take it out of the package you can tell the difference. Installed easily with NO "wrinkling", and has stayed put! Looks great on red Sonata.

I have done door edge guards on three vehicles. This one is by far the best because it is very flexible. That is, when you go around the curve part of the door it is easy to go around because it bends very easy. The others when you go around the curves do not stay and always pushing it back in. Also, this door edge guard has 3m tape behind it to hold it on or in place. The others with just the glue inside without 3m tape will not hold up in hot weather like Florida. The glue eventually starts to come out.

Installed like a breeze even cut the 45 angles perfectly for continous strip. Covered all four doors and the lift gate with one package.Tips: make sure to rub the outside of the edge of the door down with a good cleaner or alcohol both on the INSIDE and OUTSIDE of the edge you plan to attach it too. MAKE SURE THE 3M tape is on the INSIDE of the car for the best hold. Apply it inch by inch and press the guard edge firmly against the door edge and if you peel the edge of the tape from the top BUT LEAVE it attached and peel as you go down you will have great success and the 3M foam tape will not adhere to the inside of the guard and it allows you to maintain constant pressure as you go down the edge of the door. When you get to a bend or corner of the door snip a small 45 or whatever angle you require into the material but NOT all the way through leave a small hinge and bend it to create a seamless edge and squeeze the angle to make sure the tape holds to the corner then continue on. Once you are done close the door and the frame of the car and the door should allow it to maintain pressure leave it that way for about 30 minutes or so and tape and door edge should have a solid bond. The opposite side has no adhesive so if you want to get a bond on that side you can use whatever you would like but remember this side of the guard is sitting on the clear coat and paint of the car. So use caution if you decide to use tape, or loctite, small bead of clear adhesive chaulking can work for you as it dries clear holds well and does not damage paint but that is up to you. Just keep in mind that side is open and not locked down so you may run into issues with separation in bad weather, car washes, alien attacks, etc.

I always try to rate an item fairly, by listing the good and the bad. I couldn’t do that here. First, it’s hard to see, but this molding is black on one side and chrome on the other. I found this product useless as I was intending on using it as a chrome trim for my car vents. Next, this trim is NOT rubber, it’s a hard plastic that is NOT very pliable, so it stays bent the way it wants. Lastly, the adhesive strip is completely useless.

Looks great on my vehicle. After doing all four doors, I still have a lot left over. I've gone through the car wash many times and it stays in place! I'm very impressed with this product.

So I had a blemish on my new ride. maybe from accidently banging it on something, and I was looking to cover it up and to further protect it. I came across this product, and it worked!!! It doesn't look cheap, it was easy to install, and it now protects from any additional mishaps. I only did the front two doors and have plenty left.

Its looks good but its not sticking to the car .
