Alfred DB2-B Smart Door Lock Deadbolt Touchscreen Keypad, Pin Code + Key Entry + Bluetooth, Up to 20 Pin Codes (Black)

I have had this lock for a couple months and put it through its daily uses so that I could write this review. I absolutely love this lock, it has a very classy look to it, and it works flawlessly. I have the lock, the Z-Wave add on and the WiFi module. I use the Z-Wave with my Hubitat hub mainly just for when the Home Monitoring is enabled it makes sure the door is locked. The WiFi module is probably the most useful, I could check the lock with the Z-Wave while away from home, but the Alfred app is so easy to use and opens on my phone quickly so I generally use it to check the lock when away. When I first installed the lock there was a couple problems that have been addressed with updates to the app, but I would like to give a huge shout out to the Alfred customer support staff. They was so helpful and friendly and solved my problems almost instantly. I can say that I feel very confident buying their product and knowing they will stand behind it and take care of their customers. Only thing left to say is that I will shortly be buying Alfred locks for the rest of my doors.

Easy to install, with a quirk here and there. Just make sure you really pay attention to the details as a few things might result in multiple attempts to get it right.

I was overly excited about this lock. I didn't realize it required a second hole drilled in the door, so I had to have someone come and install it for me. Overall, I am very happy with it. I am just concerned about longevity. The door is underneath a porch area, but still gets direct sunlight in the morning. You can tell it gets hot and it doesn't want to light up. Kind of like if a cell phone gets to hot and needs to cool down to work.

Great customer service from the company. Beautiful lock and it has worked great so far. Alfred lock is continuing to make improvements to make it work better for the user. I can't imagine my home without it.

Just so you know I've put in 3 or 5 similar type keypad locks. Although this is by far the best looking one (think Iphone on your door) the makers need to have their installation instructions rewritten. Hire an English Grad student. Also have someone at ring or amazon help redesign the install instructions. Went fine up to the point of depth of the bolt caused the Alfred not to work. This took some effort and time that I did not expect. Overall a very cool product that just needs tome refining. I was able to use the Zwave Technology to link up to my home interface but had to order that separately. Worth the purchase but needs some creativity to get done.

I just installed this today and got it paired to Hubitat. After you add the Alfred DB2- Z Wave Plus Module Accessory to the lock, you can then start pairing it to Hubitat via Z-Wave Plus. Make sure to write down the number on the back of the Alfred DB2- Z Wave Plus Module Accessory so when it comes time to paired the unit to Hubitat, you can enter it quickly. Lock Code Manager app from hubitat works great with lock and functions well so far. I will update over time and share my experience with the lock.NOTE: You must buy the Alfred DB2- Z Wave Plus Module Accessory to get the Z-Wave to work for Hubitat.

Got two different doors now with these and they fit well into the existing cuts and set right up. The app as an easy download and setup -- immediately took control of the locks. Highly recommend.

This is the first smart door lock I’ve ever owned and installed. This review is after spending a week with this lock.The Alfred door lock came in an elegant box with all the instructions and set-up materials included. Instructions were easy to follow even for a novice. Parts and screws were all included and separated for easy find and reference.Installation was quick and easy. Just need to remove your deadbolt lock and install the Alfred one. I had to drill a secondary hole but that was easy considering the instructions came with a traceable diagram of where to cut if needed.Once installation was complete. Fired up the App and walked through the initial set-up via app. There is also a manual keypad set up process if you want that was found in the instructions however I configured via iPhone App. I set up my family members with virtual keys and created accounts for easy unlock use. You could also just create different key pins but what’s the fun in that when you can just unlock via proximity.The voice ‘welcome’ options is a nice touch. Makes me feel like I’m being greeted by a door man when I get home. Not sure how much of a drain on battery that will take so I reduced the volume and may disableIt later. Nice premium feature however.I changed my key drum from my original drum and key to the new Alfred one as a result of the setup. I haven’t used the key option other than to test the set up but it seems to work fine. Something tells me I won’t be giving my key much of a work out going forward.Keypad responsiveness is good. Keypad lights are off until I touch it awake. Buttons responsive even if you type quickly. NoGlitching when hitting code. There are also a bunch of features on the app to block gust codes, hide code from onlookers, and 1-touch entry. I haven’t used them yet but they seem fairly cool.Overall, would recommend. Great premium finish. Very techy features. Slim shape and design. Bonus is you get to still keep using keys for emergencies.

Excellent smart lock . Very sleek

First off, the lock didnt fit the holes in my door, so I widened the hole and drilled the second hole that is required, not a big deal, even though the ad states it fits all standard doors..Now, after going through all that trouble, it straight up doesn't work. It will lock the door, beep to say there is an error, then it won't unlock the door. I can hear the mechanical components moving and error beeps going off, but the door is still locked. I took it apart and put it back on 6-7 times to make sure everything is perfect, but nope. It's just a crappy product. I've installed a ton of these over the years, this is the worst for both install, and functionality.So now, I gotta return it, AND BUY A NEW FRONT DOOR.STAY AWAY!

it bugs a lot and relock right after it unlocks!! hope isna software issue !!

Hi ! Well, this is the best lock ever. It comes with "real" instructions in French and English. It was easy to install (less than 8 minutes). You have mereley 5 screws, 1 cable to plug (front panel to back panel), you put the batteries and this is it! Easy programmation, perfect bluetooth connection with the ALFRED HOME app IOS app. Everyone in the family are impressed. No more need for a key for the jogging, peace of mind and security. The lock is sturdy, good looking (mine=chrome finish), i put the autolocking, so never forget to lock your door anymore, the lock will do it for you after 30 seconds. YOU MUST BUY THIS ! YOU NEED IT ! :)
