Academy Plastics 12533 1/72 B-17E USAAF Pacific Theater, 12533

This model portrays a B-17E from WWII and is quite detailed. It is a 1/72 scale model and is a fun project to assemble. It looks realistic when finished. It's molded in gray so it requires a paint job to look like a B-17 from early in the war. It is a nice model to display on a shelf. The decals are detailed with markings for three models Calamity Jane, Yankee didd'ler and a captured unmarked model by the Japanese. It is a time -consuming model to get it right. Don't be in a hurry to build it, just take your time and it will be an impressive model when finished. I am happy with it as it portrays a E model of the Flying Fortress.

This kit was shipped from S. Korea and arrived in very good shape and promptly. Thank you very much! The kit itself is of good detail. There are some panel lines that I may sand down and rescribe. I thought the price was good for what we get. The B-17E is an important part of early WW2 history. I needed to fill this gap in my collection. In all honesty I have not yet built the kit but there are a few standouts that need to be addressed. I mentioned one above. I want to replace the exhaust/turbo superchargers. The various machine guns could be replaced for lack of detail but will pass. I like the Pacific Theater decals and selection. This is actually why I wanted the kit. My main interests are in this theater. There is an after market decal sheet for P.T.O. B-17s that I may pick-up for this kit. I'm very much looking forward to building this kit and continuing reading up on the role of the B-17E in this theater of WW2.

キット自体は約30年ほどの前の物で、本製品は太平洋戦線の機体を再現できるデカール替えキットです。基本的なプロポーションは良好なものの、ディテールは多少甘く、パネルラインは省略や間違いが多く、正確に作るには修正が必要で、組み立ても楽ではありません。付属マーキングは、米軍の他に日本軍に鹵獲された機体も入っているのは面白いです。今の目で見ると、考証やディテールの甘さも目立ちますが、1/72スケールでは他にB-17Eのキットは見当たらないので、貴重な存在には違いないでしょう。

多少のパーツのズレがありますが修正できる範囲ですパーツ数もそんなに多くなく初心者にもおすすめのモデルです
