Yum, yum yum
Delicious but expensive - but my local source was seriously out and I had to have them. I heat them, ladle over short whole grain rice, add butter and lemon pepper and "dinner's ready!"

Best Field Peas!
I was so glad to find these. They are my favorite Field pea. All the other brands that I've looked at, have added smoke flavor. Some may like that but it is a big turn off for me. Allen's brand in my opinion, is a very good quality product and very tasty.I will add that they were a bit pricey from what I use to pay at the grocery stores, but I haven't been able to find them at any of the grocery stores. Hoping they soon return to the grocery stores at the normal price or the price drops on Amazon.

Taste
I love field peas, but, these were the WORST I’ve ever had! The pease were very soft and mushy. They had no taste whatsoever.

Delicious little 'beans"
My favorite canned "bean". About the only one I care to eat. Nice rich flavor. Firm but tender and creamy texture. Compliments any main dish or pair with rice for a simple but satisfying meal. Also makes a great start for the best baked "beans".

A pantry "must."
These little beans can be hard to find. Most of our local stores don't carry them. We finally started ordering on Amazon. You can eat them heated just out of the can, but the tiny size and snap of the bean makes them a great addition to a lot of fun dishes. For example we sometimes put a few spoons in cole slaw, or pasta salad, or spicy tofu. They are good in sauteed kale, or southern style collard greens. Alas, our one dark note is the high sodium, which is an issue with most canned beans.
